skiermanHe gave up skiing to pursue his dream of becoming a top tier earner on feetfinder.com
BIIIGZLol this was one of my best friends that this happened to. He had just moved out to Denver and went to some corporate mega chain ski shop to have boot work done. The "boot fitter" had absolutely no idea what he was doing and gave my friend 3rd degree burns on his first and second toes on each foot, with minor burns to his other toes. Down to the bone. He ended up with severe nerve damage, lost his toe nails for a while etc. Eventually got back on skis like 7 months later but was still in a lot of pain. He's an extremely good all mtn/park skier and even after being prescribed gabapentin for the nerve damage he cant ski how he wants to without pain to this day although its mostly healed. He lawyered up and the company settled with him out of court for a hefty sum.
cypherslawyers make him nuke the thread? i looked around for a while the other day and couldn't find it

ChunderfaceI was urging him to get a lawyer. Glad he did. Really sucks he's still having trouble. That was the wildest bootfitter story.
BIIIGZThe tech cooked his Technica Mach1 LV shells in boot oven (not supposed to be heat molded.) Then had him put on 3 or 4 pairs of socks and stuff his foot in the boot. Then held a heat gun on the toe box for some amount of time and assured my friend that this was some secret genius method and told him it’s going to hurt like hell but it’ll be worth it. Friend said he was in a ton of pain but couldn’t really tell it was that bad bc it was so tight. Then the tech took the boots off and pretty much said yea these are ruined sorry buddy.
Next day he had massive blisters and called the shop up for advice. Shop tech told him to pop the blisters with a needle. He said fuck that and went to a podiatrist who told him if he had popped the blisters he would have likely needed one or both of his toes amputated. Then he contacted the shops manager and demanded some kind of compensation to which the manager offered him around $1000 cash. Again he said nah fuck that and lawyered up. Had receipts for all of the above and basically slam dunked on them in court.
jimbobsAfter seeing that shit I would rather have not found out what happened to bro. Hope he can ski pain free in the future, that really sucks.
