Let’s get the hype rolling! New ski designs from Volkl and line so far that I’ve seen. Yes as discussed in the old 24/25 thread there is a brand new boot entering the market from armada! It’s unlike anything else that’s out there. Exciting times in the industry for sure!
Been riding the new ARV 106 for the past few weeks.
no complaints at all really except I wish Armada would fix their sizing and do a 183/184. Only having a 180 or 188 in this ski is super awkward for anyone of average height (5’10” gang stand up).
I got the 180 in the end as I am skiing mostly park on these things - mounted them - 1cm from true center. I’ve been riding the ARV112 all season prior to this and they feel like the same ski, just narrower. I really love the flex on the ARV series, a little bit on the stiffer side with some good snappy pop but progressively get more playful as you get into the rocker in the tip and tail. Both skis are incredibly surfy and want to go sideways, especially with the center mount on the 106. They don’t have a ton of side cut so it’s easy to ‘shmooze’ them around in pow/slush and it feels very smooth. Even though the 106 felt a little short for me, they actually felt very stable on large park jumps and I really had no issues at all. The swing weight is also pretty low so they felt very easy to spin on/out of rails. Overall super sick ski and the most fun I’ve had in a minute.
Not wanting to post a boot question in a gear hype thread but there has already been so much chatter about them sooo...
Anyone with widerish feet having a good time in the K2 Cortex or Atomic Remedy boots?
I've spent a few years in a pair of Salomon S/Supra Boas in a 120 flex. They're starting to feel a bit sloppy/loose in the heels. Would I notice a big improve if I slapped some zip fits in them or would I get a lot more performance out of some of the newer boots?
Not sure how wide my feet are, but the Salomon boots have a last of 100 and I have had zero issues in them. I do have a pretty high instep.
I also have a pair of K2 Dispatch Pros (130 flex) that I tour in and really like those boots. @tomPietrowski is the 130 flex of the dispatch similar to the 130 flex of a Cortex?
Also, I heard through the grapevine that Season is coming out with a feeride-focused model next year. So there's your gear rumor.

If you’re only having heel hold issues then zips would absolutely be a great option for you. The heel pocket on them holds like no other.
if you’re having last issues than the Cortex or remedy would be great options, but if you’re gtg in a 100mm last boot than the Cortex and remedy are going to be too tight without some stretching or punches.

it got redesigned again, after the purple one? or same ski as purple?
JAHBRADORSame ski as the 24/25 as far as I’m aware.
cool, i have the purple in 188. the tail is noticeably stiff, its a great ski for going straight, fast, jumping off stuff. I just found it kind of annoying the in the trees because of the stiffness. the 112 has about he same stiffness profile feel you said?

I guess would feel ‘stiffer’ for me because they are a 185 compared to 180 but they feel like the same ski. I also mounted the 112 -2.5 from centre so they turn a little better and feel super responsive in the trees.

If you are feeling loose in a Supra, it doesn’t take much work to make you happy in. Remedy. Getting a “100mm” foot into a Remedy won’t take much work, especially if you have a decent tolerance for foot compression.

I am a big wimp when it comes to compressing my arch (instep). I can deal with compression anywhere else on my foot. Really loving the BOA because it doesn't crank down directly on my instep whereas buckles tend to do that.
I am really in interested in both boots... I think I will just have to try them both on whenever they show up at my local shop.

I would agree with what Matt said if you don’t feel super snug in a 100mm then you will probably be able to make an lv boot like cortex or remedy work. Fully with you on the instep point too I struggle so much with that in boots! Boa has been a godsend for me in that regard.

Does the K2 Cortex or Atomic Remedy work with people who have super low instep? My ankle was moving around a ton in the Atomic Ultra Hawx 130. Ended up buying a pair of Mach1 LVs because I have no patience and didn't want to break in a boot at the beginning of next season.

Yes, Remedy is lower volume than Ultra. Tighter ankle, lower instep. If you need lower volume, you'll be looking at full-on race boots.

Interesting. Might have to try one on for fun. Tried on the Salomon S Pro Race as well, and ankle did not feel 100% locked in. Thanks for getting back to me so fast! I really did not want to get a race boot after trying on the Nordica Dobermann

Remedy will also be lower volume than the S/Pro Race (which doesn't really belong in the same category). It's a true low-volume fit but with a warm, comfortable liner and lots of shock absorbing characteristics.

Shit well in hindsight it sounds like I bought the wrong boot. At the same time, I know I would never have the patience to have waited until next year. My foot and ankle were getting destroyed. At the same time, I have really enjoyed the performance of the Tecnica Mach1 130 LV.
I rode it a few days this season. Super solid all mountain charger. A little bit heavier than I would like for park riding, also isn’t super playful. On the other hand, for riding resort, it rips. Pretty damp and super stompy for a 106.
the dude is right in the video, all demo bindings made a ski feel like shit if you have them mounted more centered. The track really fucks with the flex of a ski.
mackcampRecently saw these throwback graphics at the Dynatstar tent at FWT. Unfortunately the person working the booth didn’t seem to care at all as to why I thought they were special. They didn’t give me any info what so ever.
Seems like it’s the M-Free 118 branded as the Double Trouble. Not 100% sure tho.
So cool to see re-release of these graphics! My first twintip skis!

Never did I ever think I would consider buying a ski just for the graphic, but god damn this nostalgia is getting to me. If they put that on the 112 I’m obliged. So sick!

i might be tripping but I remember Sander Hadley hinting that this was a new unique model entirely
