Let’s get the hype rolling! New ski designs from Volkl and line so far that I’ve seen. Yes as discussed in the old 24/25 thread there is a brand new boot entering the market from armada! It’s unlike anything else that’s out there. Exciting times in the industry for sure!
abjectwoeI'm trying to figure out why some have double boa and why some don't.
I'm assuming that the green one is the men's 130, the blue and black one is the women's 130, and the full blue is the unisex 140.
So I guess non 130/140 flex boots get the upper buckles.
That upper cuff looks like it's going to work so damn well on the double boa boots.
You pretty much got it. We found in testing the boa cuff offers the best performance so we have used it on the 140, 130 and 125w. We don’t offer these models with buckles as we don’t believe buckles can perform well enough to use on these highest level models. The 120 and 105w are offered in both boa and buckle as we found buckles could be ok on these mid level boots. The boa cuff will offer more performance but the buckle cuff is still good and can be offered at a lower price point. The 110 and 95w are only currently offered with buckles to hit a certain price point.
abjectwoeI could very easily be wrong, but I doubt they'll offer the same flex boot with AND without double boa.
The 120 and 105w are offered in both. They are different cuffs though. We built different tooling for boa and buckle as they are just such different systems we do not believe you can really share tooling and get the best from either system.

blueberrypaladinLooks like I was wrong on Boa and pin toes on this bad boy. Really interested in where Atomic positions this relative to the Redster CS. I’m no marketing guru, but I’m guessing that the American market was having some trouble with the CS pulling double duty as “cheater race” and “freeride weapon” so they’ll keep the CS in circulation but allow it to really steer into its racing heritage in marketing AND get the benefit of not having to mod a boot to get it “freeride-y” (also keeping those parts in stock was clearly kind of a nightmare). Less of a problem in Europe (racing = performance anywhere) but for the US market especially they wiped on the racing red for the US-friendly “butter” colorway, added replaceable GW soles, widened and barely lengthened the forefoot but not the heel, and are going to get them on the feet of some TGR/MSP athletes.
In other words: @onenerdykid built his own Redster Freeride, put it on Instagram, and then made a whole new boot out of it.
I could be missing some other major changes (those lower buckles look REALLY flat so I wonder if there’s something there). If I’m right, this is awesome: the Redster CS is by all accounts a f**king great boot, and this’ll get something like it on more feet. Already a Redster lover? Save $150 and you might be able to wear this out the box. Coming out of an RX and want its closest successor? Probably this tbh. I’m booted up for the next 5 years but I love this move regardless.
So 25/26 is going to be a big year for us, lots of new boots being launched. We will launch a whole new Redster campaign in early February (skis & boots), and I will not be talking about anything “Redster” until then. But Remedy is now on the table, and I will fill you in a little bit.
Coming out of our new Redster race program is a boot that our Freeride World Tour & freestyle skiers alike have been wanting for a long time. This is the Remedy 130 – born directly of Redster DNA, but purposefully built for our athletes. It was originally supposed to be a very limited edition boot, but rather than do that, it will be widely available next autumn. The color is officially called Butter, and it really looks like butter in person haha. All new mold construction, all new last with ample big toe shaping and toe space in general. It’s a “comfy” 96mm last if such a thing exists, and I know that anyone who currently has a CS will love it. It comes equipped with a ShockStopper boot board & liner spoiler and a generously treaded GripWalk sole (5355 soles will be available separately for anyone with race bindings). Lastly, it utilizes a more temperature stable PU that offers a much more consistent and predictable feel across a wide variety of temperatures. There is A LOT more to talk about, but anything more than that will spill too many of the secret beans from our Redster launch in February.
If atomic figured out how to get Hawx level temp stability (and a little bit of its bounciness) into a FWT capable boot, spring skiing will never be the same

Dig the early colorways. Ok swear last one from me for now - being someone with that skinnier lower leg, I'm assuming the new BOA upper would offer better performance given how it wraps around around the lower leg? Also does the flex run fairly 'standard' from what you guys have seen from testers? (ie 130 feels like a true 130, etc) ? Seriously going to be trying to find a dealer next week to get in a pair. Thanks again for helping get all this info out to us enthusiasts

Yeah most testers find the wrap is better with the boa cuff. It’s not going to fit every leg perfectly but we do find they are working well for lots of people.
Flex wise they are going to be true to stiffer for the most part. If you have skied our boot previously these are nothing like we have done before. This was a nice little summery I read over on tgr
I was in my local shop ths morning when the new K2 double boa boots showed up. I tried on the LV model quick (last 96-98mm) and they snuggled my foot like i've never felt on first try. They were stiff as f*$k too, a true 130. A little harder to get into since you can't spread out the bottom part of the shell as wide as a buckle boot. Really nice to use the boa to wrap the boot around you. I'm down to go back in and give them a deeper look.

Is this going to stop me from "world cupping" into the boot with my liner on?

No you will be fine, I have been doing it with foam injection liners for a few seasons now. It is slightly harder than buckles as the shell does not open quite as far but if you struggle you can switch out the lower cable for one 5cm longer.

abjectwoePretty big difference between the K2 double boa upper cuff and that of the Head/Nordica. Wish the tag wasn't in the way for the Atomic.
Yeah we tested boa cuff on a more standard cuff with the split in the front like we use on buckle boots but we found having the front of the cuff spilt did not work as well in our opinion. We believe a solid front section works better with the way the boa cuff system works. Nordica actually do attach the two flaps too but don’t go as far as we did. Our buckle cuff cortex boots will still use a split front cuff as that works better for buckles.
