-eREKTion-As a fun thought experiment for democrats: Imagine a construction worker, he has a campaign sticker on his hard hat, what’s the sticker say? Now a factory worker walking out after a long shift to his truck, what’s the bumper sticker say?
The DNC has lost the working vote. The liberal wing of US politics is no longer liberal, it’s progressive leftist. Coastal elitists have stolen the party from the working class and sold you identity politics dogma in place of policy. Welcome to the GOP dynasty. Calling the next 2 generals going red, as well.
snowfinderThat might be viewed as protesting and under trump that will likely be jail time.
snowfinderI dont support trump so you dont have to worry about me or any other sane person doing anything like that.
snowfinderThank you for proving Trump supporters dont understand things that actually happened in the past, Jan 6.
-eREKTion-This is why democrats lost and will continue to lose for the foreseeable future. Americans voted for their interests tonight and Trump deservedly won. You may disagree that Trump represents Americans best interest but it’s reductive to say that his victory was because of racism, sexism, or whatever other-ism.
Trump is racist? How did he flip the Latino vote so much? He flipped counties that are 90%+ Latino that have voted blue since the 1890’s.
Trump is sexist? Wasn’t Harris’s campaigning that disparaged women who wouldn’t vote for her and targeted “sexist” black men in particular pretty sexist.
Trump loves violence? Name the war that began under Trump… like seriously he was the only President who didn’t start or expand wars since Carter. Russia didn’t invade Ukraine under his watch. Israel didn’t raze Gaza. 13 Americans didn’t die in Kabul.
Trump is undemocratic? Kamala Harris didn’t receive a single vote in the primary. Call it what it really was, a coup. Harris didn’t seize power until after Americans learned that they’d been lied to about Biden’s mental state.
snowfinderNo cities are going to burn even though you and other trump supporters want it to happen.

The last time he was president things weren't good, everyday people woke up in fear that we will be in a war because of something he said or did. So we are back living in fear because an insane man child is now in charge again. It is true he loves the poorly educated because they support him because they cant see him for who he is, a con man.
-eREKTion-but it’s reductive to say that his victory was because of racism, sexism, or whatever other-ism.
eheathI think he won by a large margin because of sexism, not because he's sexist, because people didn't want to vote for a women, the US has deep seeded sexism (and racism) and elections are a stark reminder of that.
Its not the only reason he won, but I think against another man it would have been a tighter race for sure.

VTshredder69Yea let's blame it on sexism. Not the fact that she had terrible policy if any policy.
Liberal logic 101
Farmville420Dems being denied a primary and assigning a crooked cop with a "do nothing" slogan lost them the election, not hatred of women. Put Jill Stein on the ballot for the dems and they win by a landslide im so serious, the democratic party is a shitshow and it's genuinely embarrassing.
It's still fuck trump all day because a fasc billionaire getting his ass ate by billionaire larping as an engineer is objectively worse.
Neither of the two candidates are looking after us, and they got 99% of the vote, this country is cooked.
eheathyou guys are both naive if you think that the deep seeded sexism in the US didn't come into play in this election. it 100% did. i didnt say it was the only reason.
and jill stein lol dude. open your eyes.
Farmville420Jill was the only correct choice this election and if you can't see why then that's fine, but I don't really care to argue with libs. Sure, sexism probably played some part, but we are talking about a landslide. Hilary won the popular vote in 2016, Americans will vote for a woman over a man.

VTshredder69So the 52% majority of the country that are women are sexist against themselves i guess.
eheathYes. Women don't even trust a woman in office. Its systemic sexism, the US has been putting women down for centuries, the changes in the last few decades are pretty fucking fresh still.
eheathhilary still lost though, the popular vote means literally nothing... americans clearly dont want to vote women into power theyve had multiple opportunities to do so, im not sure why you're arguing against that, our country is riddled with systemic sexism you're choosing to ignore that for whatever reason.
im not saying anything about jill's policies, i was loling because you think switching her to the dems automatically makes it a landslide? thats some fantasy world shit.

Granby_killdozerWhat changes have happened in the past few decades?? The 90s were a few decades ago. The sexual revolution occurred in the 60s and 70s. The suffrage movement was over 100 years ago. There is nothing holding women back. Look at rates of college education, homelessness, and incarceration. Women are doing WAY better than men. Kamala didn’t lose because she’s a woman. She lost because she was a weak candidate plain and simple.
Farmville420Majority of the population was down with a woman president, she got fucked by the electoral college. Yes there's sexism, I wil not disagree with you, but if the candidate is good they will win the vote regardless. There's hella racism in this country but Obama won by 10 million votes (it wasn't even close at all). A good candidate can overcome these things, kamala just was not a good candidate and that's on the dnc.
The reality about the democrats is that they never wanted to win, they just want your fundraiser money without holding any accountability. Joe Biden saw roe v wade get overturned during his tenure, they don't care at all and it's not surprising their voters don't either anymore.
Granby_killdozerWomen are doing WAY better than men.
Christian_BaleIf you focus on college educated women in blue states, sure that's a reasonable take. But I'd say it's worth considering the fact that infant mortality in Mississippi is almost on par with Kazakhstan and Lebanon (around 9 per 1,000 apparently.) Just saying I would not want to a pregnant women in a financially precarious situation in a red state rn

VTshredder69The housing crisis is mainly from Blackrock Vanguard and Statestreet buying up homes and leasing them. They can charge whatever they want. All in bed with the democrats.

Granby_killdozerSorry but infant mortality is a terrible statistic to bring up since men can’t get pregnant. By that metric men are doing infinitely better than women and therefore it’s not useful. Men in Mississippi are 4 times as likely as women to commit suicide and 3 times as likely to end up in prison. I think it’s safe to say that both genders have it bad when you’re poor living in Mississippi and it can definitely be argued that men have it worse if you go by the metrics I just gave.

Tariffs paid must be paid in USD at a higher rate. Therefore buying from US Treasury and keeping the USD the global currency. I don't see so much bad in that. If the USD falls from world currency we're all in big trouble with our national debt.
.MASSHOLE.Name me Jill Stein's policies that are actually plausible and significantly different than what the Democrats laid out.
Has she EVER done anything at any stage that has been even remotely effective?
.MASSHOLE.My guy, it's Blackstone, not Blackrock. Two different companies.
And that's not even remotely true.
Housing shortage is intralinked to three items:
1. Material and labor costs
2. Interest rates
3. Zoning laws
Materials and labor costs for building houses have skyrocketed over the past decades. Combine that with limited risk appetite post-2008, companies were unwilling to build out speculative housing stock. So high input costs + limited risk appetite = no incentive to build.
Interest rates were at historic lows for a long time. However, we know that has now changed so add in the limited risk appetite to increased mortgage rates, people aren't buying. That means, again, no incentive to build.
Finally, the biggest elephant in the room neither party is addressing - zoning laws. So many towns and cities have convoluted and antiquated zoning laws that make it impossible to build "starter" or "multifamily" homes. I'm sure people on this forum have seen lawn signs decrying some new development that's being proposed. NIMBYism is rampant and arguably one of the biggest, yet most easily addressable, problems for the housing market.
And to your comment about the dollar - That's a piss-poor argument. There's no threat to the US losing out on being the global currency. Yes, China is trying to make a play in Africa and other developing nations but their economy is being held together by tape and string. Xi is in real trouble and I wouldn't be shocked to see the renminbi struggle over the next decade.
SteezyYeeterlol idiot from Massachusetts ^^^

iH8powThe amount of people having to eat crow now is pretty crazy. Letitia James, Jack Smith, Kamala has a chance to be humble in her concession speech, I really hope she does. When you get so humbled by popular vote, I hope she chooses the congratulatory path rather than victim path.
VTshredder69It's Blackrock Capital.
If you know anything about Brics you'd see they're coming for the American Dollar. You think it's coincidence we're flooding the global market with it ... hence the crazy inflation?
I'm sure we just really care about Ukraine, not the fact that we have contracts in place to rebuild it right? You probably don't know we're not actually giving them money. We're giving them munitions that they have to pay for in USD at super high interest rates. That reduces inflation when it's paid in USD to the US Government. Crazy high interest rates and principal paid to the government reduces available USD.
And to argue that huge capital management companies buying up homes has nothing to do with housing prices is wrong. They are buying up lots of houses in cash which is reducing the available homes on the market which increases the price. Obviously labor and material costs are increasing but thats only a part of whats really going on.
I mean what do i know i'm just an accountant at a construction consulting company.
Investment firms like Blackrock are buying affordable homes in growing areas.
Just admit you know nothing about economics.
Farmville420On the policies:
1. Lack of military aid and cash for Ukraine and Israel are the most radical stances of any candidate in modern US politics. (Everyone agrees that trillions of dollars being used for foreign wars is a waste of taxpayer dollars, she's the only one that pledged to stop funding them).
2. Stein is a doctor that is openly against the FDA, and believes that corporate influence has tarnished the administration. Wants to phase out GMOs and pesticides, and harsher regulations on vaccines.
3. She also wanted to nationanalize the federal reserve and create nonprofit banks, as well as opposed raising the debt ceiling. She wanted to propose a sales tax on stocks and increase taxes on inheritances over 3 million dollars.
4. Is in favor of ranked-choice voting which is obviously something a Democrat or Republican is against so thats kinda obvious.
And she hasn't done shit because she hasn't held a meaningful government position? She's been running forever but unfortunately new England is too libpilled, but she was also a practicing physician for a majority of her life so that ate up a lot of time to get shit done. By far the most radical politician in any race and has so many good points that both Republicans and democrats obviously support. All of them are plausible.
Lenny-Why are Alaska, Nevada, Arizona and Maine so slow to get their votes counted? Are people there just kinda slack jawed and lazy?
eheathim pretty sure AZ and NV have some like super old voting systems that have to be hand counted. its 2024 cant fix this lol
.MASSHOLE.Lets start with the Blackrock vs. Blackstone:
Blackrock is an investment management company. They provide investments into mutual funds, ETFs, and alternative investments.Sure, they're invested in REITs but that's what any investment management company does. They're not buying up single family homes.
Blackstone is a private equity firm. They're the ones who purchased a company that bought up single family homes.
The source for Blackrock in that article? A fucking Reddit thread.
It's Blackstone that's purchasing houses AS MENTIONED IN THAT ARTICLE.
FFS - https://www.housingwire.com/articles/no-wall-street-investors-havent-bought-44-of-homes-this-year/
I'm curious, do you know what Trump's proposal for housing is? Relative to what Kamala's is?
I'll give you a hint, one address everything, one addresses a boogeyman.
Next is BRICS -
BRICS has done nothing for decades.
Lets look at their economics: Russia is fucked, South Africa is fucked, India would never bother moving away from their own currency since it gives them the economic freedom to do what they want, and the same goes for China.
Now lets look at international relations: Yes, China and Russia have close ties. India and Russia have close ties too. However India and China HATE each other. They still fight at their border annually. India and Brazil value democracy very highly, while China and Russia have been its biggest detractor.
So if you're trying to argue China's renminbi wants to replace the dollar? Sure, that argument would hold some weight until you look closer at what they've been trying to do with it.
If you're trying to argue that China and India would ever forgo currency independence, I've got a bridge to sell you in Brooklyn.
Ukraine -
Yes, obviously I know that the $ aid that goes to Ukraine isn't actually dollars, it's equipment and munitions created by US companies. And no, Ukraine is not paying for all the aid immediately. Those contracts will stipulate that the US gets paid back over decades. For reference, the UK finally paid back the US from WWII recently. It's not being used as a monetary policy tool.

VTshredder69I believe they don't start vote counting until the last ballot has been received or some shit like that.
eheathstill some horse shit. i understand digitizing voting is scary and a security risk, but we can figure it out
Christian_BaleI am not saying women always have it worse than men. What I'm saying is that these abortions laws will make your life more difficult if you are a woman. Hard to argue otherwise. Shit is tough for men in a lot of ways, I don't disagree at all, yet I don't know of any laws by which men, as a group, are affected in the same way. Don't understand how it makes sense to write it off, as you seem to suggest, since it only applies to one group.
iH8powThe amount of people having to eat crow now is pretty crazy. Letitia James, Jack Smith, Kamala has a chance to be humble in her concession speech, I really hope she does. When you get so humbled by popular vote, I hope she chooses the congratulatory path rather than victim path.
