snowfinderWhy do Trump supporters always say the same thing about protesters? If they are protesting for Democrats, they are being paid, and if they are protesting for the right, they are undercover FBI agents wearing masks.
Can you give an example? I'm in full support of protesting, but the recent protests are for Ukraine in my city. My question is how many of those protestors and sending Ukraine money or signing their kids up to fight the war? Trump wants to end the war. How many of them are willing to fight for Zelensky. We all know the answer. Many of them will 'fake' support but won't actually do anything to support Ukraine.
Trump doesn’t want to end the war. He wants a rare earth minerals deal to make a trillion dollars off of Ukraine’s natural resources. If he could have assured he was willing to do what it took to end the war, in return, the deal would have been signed.
Are you willing to fight to support Trump? Because you may have to if we lose all of our allies and Russia has its way with Europe and then turns its sights our direction.

How else do you recommend the US ends the war? I think Trump's approach is the best way to ensure that US does not fight this war. It's not our war to fight, Ukraine is not part of NATO.

The deal was literally on the table. The mineral deal would give us incentive to occupy Ukraine and keep Russia at bay. Ukraine will never win this war. Unless you donate of course. Why don't you donate? Have you?
SSteezleHow else do you recommend the US ends the war? I think Trump's approach is the best way to ensure that US does not fight this war. It's not our war to fight, Ukraine is not part of NATO.
I don't understand this line of thought -
We're not fighting this war. I've never heard a single person say that the US needs to provide front-line manpower.
We're supplying weapons. Private companies are profiteering off it (as the Industrial Military complex always does). There is a lend-lease program similar to WWII so the government is making money as well.
So this pearl clutching over US getting involved with actual, front-line, boots on the ground, troops is crazy to me because it's so far-fetched.
If Ukraine wants to fight for their country, let them. Give them the tools they need. Because a weak Russia is good for the rest of the world.

So are you saying we should just continue to give money? When should it stop? How do you think we end the war and the people dying?
Even ChatGPT doesn’t see exploiting Ukraine’s natural resources while leading them to the Russian slaughter house as an option for “ending the war.”
”The U.S. can help end the Russia-Ukraine war through military aid, economic pressure, diplomacy, and humanitarian support. Providing advanced weapons, enforcing strict sanctions, and engaging allies can weaken Russia’s position. Supporting Ukraine’s economy, aiding refugees, and strengthening NATO deters further aggression. Diplomatic efforts, including pressure from global powers, could push for negotiations. The goal is to make peace the best option for all parties while ensuring Ukraine’s security.”
That’s all Zelensky wanted in exchange for the minerals deal”— ensured security for Ukraine. Trump’s refusal to commit to that just shows how spot-on Zelensky’s intuition was not to blindly trust Trump without contractual obligation.
You said you “think Trump’s approach is the best way,”— what is it that you think Trump’s approach actually is?

Sno.To be fair, one post looks really long because the quote box was eliminated, so the multi-paragraph post I was responding to appeared to be part of my own post. And to also be fair, my very next post was simply pointing that out. Also whatever! I do what I want!

Why are you on ChapGPT? You realize ChatGPT is left-leaning? It's not the truth, it's what it can pull from 'fake news' sources.
Why did you completely ignore my questions? How has ending the war worked the last 3 years? It didn't work at all, did it? So you support giving money and weapons for eternity?

I didn’t ignore your question at all. You asked how the U.S. could help end the war and I answered. Why couldn’t Trump just provide the assurances that the U.S. would intervene and protect Ukraine if Russia violated a ceasefire.
You asked what options the U.S. had to help end the war. I asked ChatGPT to give me every possible reasonable or fact-based option presented online from any reputable news source or journalist including democratic, republican and bipartisan sources, for ending the Russian-Ukrainian war that had any merit and that would be unlikely to escalate the war into further wars or invasions. Unfortunately the answer it gave was too long and I didn’t want to post multiple screen shots of a long multi-paragraph answer so asked ChatGPT to summarize the answer. That summary is what is posted above.

The whole "paid protestor" thing pisses me off tbh.

You realize the US intervening would mean us sending our troops? Did you didn't say that there was no way that we would ever do that?
Why are you relying on ChatGPT? Are you liberal but don't have opinions or facts without looking them up?
To answer the second part of this, the Russian economy has been crippled by this war. Further sanctions, continued support from the U.S., and additional pressure from NATO could have ended the war. Air strikes, counter attacks to drone strikes. Do I support giving money for all of eternity? No, because that’s not necessary. There are many options that could end the war without throwing in the towel, eliminating Ukraine, and us selling our souls to Russia. Also, we’ve provided 183 billion over the last 3 years. No need to be hyperbolic. We spent 3 trillion on the Iraq war and now suddenly the right wing is anti-war and anti-war spending? What alternative universe is this? I swear you all just glom on to the republican talking point of the day and spread it like wildfire. Whatever it may be. Doesn’t need to be based in fact, hypocrisy is 1000% fair game, as long as you all stay firm and all repeat the same thing then you’re united and you feel that repetition in numbers makes you all sound more credible or something. It just makes you sound cult like.
If Trump was instead supporting *increasing* aid to Ukraine and upping our efforts everyone knows you all wouldn’t be opposing him. You’d just be spewing that line of thinking.

ChatGPT wrote that... You can't think for yourself.
More sanctions and more U.S. money are totally going to fix everything, right? Let’s just ignore the fact that endless foreign spending has never been the answer. Under Trump, we focus on putting America First, not endlessly pouring cash into every conflict that comes our way.
But hey, keep waving the “we need more money for Ukraine” flag, while pretending the last 183 billion hasn’t been plenty. If Trump were supporting increased aid, you’d be spinning it as “strong leadership” – funny how that works. Maybe, just maybe, repeating talking points isn’t the key to credibility.
Alright gang, should we be rolling the dice and buying the dip assuming that sometime in the next 10 hours the tariffs will be backtracked on like before…or should we be gambling on some puts expecting a bloody Tuesday?
I’m not relying on ChatGPT. I provided one quote from ChatGPT as a supplemental source backing my argument that no reputable source backs what you are supporting here or Trumps mineral-for-nothing strategy. Have you ever heard of sources? You don’t seek information or fact-check your statements or arguments? Why does that not surprise me.
And no, there are a lot of ways in which we can maintain, increase and or diversify our support for Ukraine without sending in troops.

What are they? How are they different from what Biden has been doing?

I wish I’d have bought some crypto the second the “crypto reserve” announcement by Trump made headlines. My brother made over $5k yesterday alone.

As tempted as I am I’m not risking it with puts. Feels like there’s a good chance that it’s not 25%, but also not nothing at all so it just ends up dropping a bit and then trades sideways.
As is usually the case I’ll probably feel like a dumbass and/or like I missed out on a big win either way
SSteezleBut you never answered me. Is this your way of ignoring my question?
I did answer you. Multiple times.
I literally said: “Further sanctions, continued support from the U.S., and additional pressure from NATO could have ended the war. Air strikes, counter attacks and drone strikes.” In addition to the option of “simply providing the protection that Ukraine asked for confirmation of in the minerals-for-protection deal they came to sign a few days ago.”
… maybe if you actually read my responses instead of focusing on your Trump-like distract-and-gaslight technique of accusing me of not being capable of making my own arguments…

So more people dying on both sides. You realize how big Russias army is right?
SSteezleSo are you saying we should just continue to give money? When should it stop? How do you think we end the war and the people dying?
If they request it, yes. It's not free. It comes with stipulations. Our economy benefits from it (despite what the GOP talking heads would have you think).
It stops when Ukraine wants it to stop. They're fighting for their own homeland. If they want to fight until the last man or woman is dead, so be it. They'll do that with or without US assistance.
But if you care about lives, then give them the best ability to end it with fewer lives lost.
We know Russia is sending in troops with complete disregard for their safety.
Why should Ukraine have to do the same?
US weapons will give them the best chance at survival.
An MRAP is infinitely better than an humvee or other technical vehicle. Long-range missiles means that Russia can't move their assets into firing range of Ukrainian cities. More ammo means they can actually fight the way they want to rather than conserving ammo and potentially giving up positions they'll fight to take back later.

You realize "providing the protection Ukraine asked for" is getting the US into war with Russia, right? Zelensky wants us to fight his war. You realize this right?
Why don’t you first answer my question, and then I will continue to engage in yours. I asked what it is you think Trump’s strategy is… since you said it was the best option. Lay it out for us. According to you, here, it provides lasting peace for both sides with no further death on either side. Interesting. What are the deets. I’m all ears.

Again-- Ukraine is not winning this war. They won't win regardless of any amount of money unless the US or Europe puts their own troops on the ground. I agree, Ukraine can fight it out and lose their entire country to Russia, but that means MANY lives lost. US providing money has proven that it doesn't solve the war. Trump came up with a deal that was a way of stopping the war, and people dying. Zelensky said no and then asked for our money. This is why I say, to anyone supporting Ukraine here, to put your money where your mouth is, and actually send them money!

Lol bro, I've said it many times here. Ukraine should have taken that deal. It's the only way there is peace. Zelensky just costs Ukraine MANY lives lost, and they will not win this war. That deal was their way out. You will see, he will come back to Trump asking for that deal back in a few months.
I want you to outline what the deal was. You apparently don’t know since you’ve avoided answering that like 10 times now.

Ok General Eisenhower. I'm sure Russia should be able to do that with their air superiority right? They are a massive military and should have no problem controlling the skis with their air force.
Wait, you're telling me that's not the case? That an airforce made up of 3rd and 4th gen fighters is some how beating a modern air force with next-gen fighters? And that ground troops using old MANPADS are able to stop Russian helicopters?
Man, imagine what they'd do with F-16s and modern technology.
I'm curious about this deal you talk about - why do you have faith that Putin would ever abide by it?
SSteezleThe deal details are everywhere online, can you not google? Apparently Zelensky still wants the deal, so it couldn't have been that bad for Ukraine.
My boss who I talk to every day at work is from Ukraine. She takes trips to see her family- her parents, brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews twice a year. The stories she has come back with regarding her country and how life has changed for them are heartbreaking.
By all accounts Zelensky’s presence in the stories told, media coverage circulated, and what we have all witnessed is that of an unwavering respectable hero for his Country. Americans have always valued life, always backed our allies, and have always had love and a soft spot for heroes. You back the protagonist, not the villain… (and in this case the protagonist is the underdog which makes them that much more worth of empathy and respect)… it’s what you do. So this meme is just stupid af.
Your 'hero' just turned down a deal that would have saved MANY lives. Dude you're lost man, I'm done. I give up on you. The meme is accurate. If you care so much, go and fight. Send your next paycheck and the paycheck after that to Zelensky.
lol. Wtf! You might want to read up on what was actually being offered to Ukraine in exchange for the mineral rights. (Spoiler alert: it wasn’t US on the ground protecting Ukraine from shit).
”The deal called for 50% of Ukraine’s resulting mineral and natural resources revenues to go to the United States as payment for previous military support for the war against Russia.”
SSteezleWe get access to the land to profit off minerals, in exchange we have US on the ground to stop Russia from invading. What don't you understand?
SSteezleWe get access to the land to profit off minerals, in exchange we have US on the ground to stop Russia from invading. What don't you understand?
That's not the deal.
The deal had nothing about US guarantees for providing security, only that Ukraine should be "free, sovereign and secure".
