It’s more in the way that he is ensuring people around him are absolute Stans. He’s basically putting loyalty (see: ass kissing) before all qualifications while packing the Supreme Court with federalist society nut jobs.
That stupid quote about “good times make weak men” is actually true in this case. All I see is weak men who will bow to the biggest stick so they can rob the taxpayer when thinking of this administration. History will look down poorly on us.
No matter your political allegiance, I can’t see how anyone can see what is going on and think “that’s my guy. Hell yeah”. Cognitive dissonance 101.
VTshredder69I think we have to worry when people start being exterminated. Fortunately I don't think we'll get to that point. But if we do i'll agree with your comparison to nazi germany.
He'd cure cancer and ppl would yell at him for eliminating healthcare jobs. Lets be realistic here.
Cognitive dissonance is choosing your cabinet based on race and gender to show you're "inclusive". Example being Sam Brinton... The dude who was stealing suitcases from the airport and then dressing in womens clothes from them.
I don't buy it.

SSteezleAnd of course, the grand finale—complaining about billionaires getting richer while supporting the very policies that make it happen. But hey, at least you threw in a sarcastic “good call lol” to really drive it home.
I wish I had half your skill and prowess in mental gymnastics.
-The richest man on earth bought a government position
-The current president (trump or musk) is removing any oversight on these billionaires
-The current president is also a billionaire
-The current administration is cutting taxes for billionaires, and increasing taxes for most Americans, while also increasing the deficit
But it’s Medicaid, SNAP, and school lunches that are really helping the billionaires?
Hopefully RFK junior makes lobotomies legal again. Then I could get one and the ssteezle logic would make sense.
SSteezleTypical left-wing meltdown. A bunch of bureaucrats who were likely put in place by previous Democratic administrations suddenly resign, and we're supposed to believe it's some grand stand for democracy? Give me a break.
These people weren’t some neutral, Constitution-loving patriots—they were political holdovers likely working against the administration's agenda from within. When Trump was in office, the Deep State did everything they could to obstruct him at every turn, and now Musk is cleaning house the way any competent leader would.
And let’s be real—resigning in protest isn’t some noble act, it’s just a PR stunt. If they truly believed in their cause, they’d stay and fight for their vision of “democracy” from within. Instead, they ran to the media for sympathy, knowing full well the usual anti-Trump talking heads would eat it up.
Musk is right—these were political actors who would’ve been removed anyway. You don’t get to sabotage an administration and then cry foul when the leadership takes action. America First means putting the will of the people ahead of entrenched bureaucrats trying to hold onto their power.
all you do is get in political arguments like once a year then dip until there’s more political arguments to be made

- Billionaires have always bought influence—welcome to politics.
- Government “oversight” is just code for bureaucrats making themselves richer.
- Biden’s buddies are billionaires too—funny how that never bothers you.
- Trump cut taxes for everyone, but sure, keep up the “for billionaires” chant.
- The deficit? Yeah, because Biden’s trillion-dollar spending sprees were totally free.
But yeah, let’s blame school lunches instead of, you know, the people actually running the country into the ground. If RFK Jr. brings back lobotomies, at least you’ll finally have an excuse for this logic.
Thanks for providing my point. Inflation is a lagging indicator, closer to two years. Trump ran up inflation with his deregulated economy (Covid stimulus checks that Trump was so stubborn to make sure his name was literally on the checks), and then during Biden admin JPowell had to come in and pour cold water on it. And Biden stepped aside and let JPow put out a string of rate hikes, something Trump was vehemently against in his first term despite it being necessary with our “booming” economy. Those are small details to most people but to me that’s shit I don’t forget because when conservatives come out saying their bs about keeping debt and inflation in check, I know they’re fully of it
Considering this sub is 90%+ men, it’s shocking to see how left leaning this sub is. I guarantee you most of us are center left, we agree that spending is a big issue, but you’re not willing to understand that cutting certain funding and regulations are not the answer.
yea, anyone could have seen inflation coming, which is why I’m sick of republicans pretending to be defecit hawks. Clinton administration was last one to balance budget, we’ve had 4 terms of each party since nobody has and will do anything
SSteezleSo let me get this straight—you’re out here lecturing people on “Economics 101” while completely ignoring reality? The economy was booming under Trump, with record-low unemployment, rising wages, and a stock market that shattered records. But suddenly, when Biden stumbles in, prints trillions of dollars like it’s Monopoly money, kneecaps domestic energy production, and sends inflation skyrocketing, it’s all somehow Trump's fault?
And nice flex on Bitcoin and gold. Congrats, you predicted inflation like every economist has been warning about for decades—what a visionary. But here’s the real kicker: inflation was not a problem under Trump because we had smart policies—low taxes, deregulation, and energy independence. The second Biden took office, everything went to hell, and now we’re all paying for it at the gas pump and grocery store.

You’re right, inflation is a lagging indicator, but let’s not ignore the fact that Trump’s policies pre-COVID created a booming economy with low unemployment and steady inflation around 2%. The COVID stimulus checks were a response to a global pandemic, and yes, Trump’s name was on the checks—because he wanted Americans to get help, regardless of the political drama.
Biden, on the other hand, passed trillions in spending (American Rescue Plan, Infrastructure Bill) that ramped up inflation, which is exactly why Powell had to raise rates aggressively—something Biden didn’t exactly fight against. And as for deficit hawks, it’s true, both parties have had their share of poor fiscal management, but at least Trump’s tax cuts and deregulation sparked economic growth.
-eREKTion-As a certified republican Trump-hater, I’m pumped. 4 more years then he can fuck off for good. We just need a competent and articulate successor to save the right wing movement. A Trump figure who isn’t retarded, doesn’t say racist things, and is pro-abortion. That would be damn near unbeatable.
There's no such things a successful pro-choice Republican. Don't you get that the entire reason they keep half the country foolishly voting against their own best interests is by glomming on to and taking advantage of pro-life and the 2nd amendment in order to ensure those with abortion and guns as their number 1 priorities continue voting red? Without pro-life and guns the Republicans have no one but the mega rich. That's why every Republican campaign is about abortions and guns. Rinse, repeat.

Must have a hard time remembering, maybe you could remind me.
Which billionaire gave Joseph Biden nearly 300 million dollars, then received his own department in government and the directly managed the government themselves? Oh and that billionaire also happens to manage directly portions of the government that effect his business.
Which one of all of Bidens billionaire buddies did that?
Feel free to link me.

Oh, you mean George Soros? The billionaire who throws millions at politics, backs Biden, and somehow ends up with a lot of "influence."

Why are you pretending like this term even remotely resembles his last? He's already shown us in the first month this is absolutely *nothing* like his last term-- so why talk about what you appreciated about his last term as though that's what is happening here/moving forward?
One month in, and they're terrorizing Federal workers for political theater, leaving our infrastructure, national parks, and federal services gutted with nowhere to turn, cutting funding for health care research, passing a budget bill that will require medicaid and VA benefit cuts which leaves our nation's most vulnerable up shit creek, eliminating the Department of Education that provides special education, cutting programs for school lunches and subsidies for poor children in public education, cutting SNAP, siding with Russia over Ukraine severing ties with the European union and other allies, inviting in drug cartel and over rich criminals if they pay enough for a "gold card," appointing MAGA extremists into FBI positions that are supposed to be unpartisan, burning bridges with Canada, undermining our judicial system and democracy of checks and balances, privatizing our national parks to exploit for fossil fuels, implementing "spite" policies where funding is cut off if states don't fall in line with his racist ideologies... and a lot more.
The President is supposed to promote creation of jobs for the American people, not increase unemployment and eliminate the jobs of hardworking people for a laugh.
How a skier could ever support someone who wants to privatize our invaluable national parks is just something that makes my head explode. You can't undo that.

Oh, please. Trump’s first term was about cutting the fat and putting America first—no more wasting taxpayer dollars on bloated government programs. You don’t like it? Too bad.
Did you forget about Trump's enactment of the Great American Outdoors Act, which provided unprecedented funding to address maintenance backlogs and enhance infrastructure. The NPS has restored jobs for dozens of previously laid-off employees and is hiring nearly 3,000 additional seasonal workers to maintain park services during peak season.
SSteezleYou realize Trump is the president? Why are you so obsessed with Elon, Trump's in charge.
It's hilarious that you don't think that donors got special treatment from Biden's administration!
Uhhh maybe because they're demanding pure loyalty to Elon lol? An organization that can't encourage dissent is weak. I sure hope they don't keep this up
LonelyMight I ask, what is being cut, and what is being increased?
Article didn't have granularity of what programs, just what committees.
Cuts:
Energy and Commerce - At least $880B.
Education and Workforce - At least $330B.
Agriculture - At least $230B.
Other - At least $562B
Increases:
Judiciary and Homeland Security - At least $200B. Suspected to be primarily border-related
Armed Services - At least $100B. Unclear where. Could be border involvement
Tax Cuts - $4.5T
So that's there that $2.8T deficit increase comes from.

You literally ignored everything I said in my post about THIS term and continue to talk about his first term when there is a stark contrast. Why? You know you can be a supporter of his first term and also have concerns about what he's done so far in his second term. They aren't mutually exclusive and you won't look weak or foolish.
Saving-face appears to have become the GOPs number one priority. There's obviously so much they're willing to let crumble and be destroyed before being willing to prioritize their country over the potential loss of their seats, or in the case of their constituents-- ego.
HypeBeastLet's take a break for a moment. I have a pop quiz for the thread. How much money have we spent on Ukraine? No cheating.
Timeline might be nice. The original conflict began in 2014 when we through 3 billion at them. and we've been giving them small amounts of aid even before then.

He's obviously referring to the last 3 years since Russia invaded Ukraine, which is also what Don is referring to with his fake news numbers. You're now trying to make a case for Don's lies to actually be factual because he is referring to all-time aid and not the current Russia/Ukraine conflict? Come on, man.

LonelyWell 183 billion, so only off by about…well, double.
Oh and about a third of that is spent in the U.S. on production/procurement

It was $175bil but only $120b went directly to Ukraine. Anyone who acts like this aid is out of the goodness of our hearts is a moron. It's a proxy war and the US exerting its influence to control the outcome, but maga people are mad we are investing in our national security? Uhhhh this isn't charity money by any means.

Has the last 80 years of proxy war not been enough
Guess this is only for the past 3 years. Neat dude we all already knew this. We were hoping you at least went back to 2014.
My guess from 1990 on its a good amount more than this. Try and think long term not recent memory only.
Are we asking them to pay us back or are we just borrowing more money in order to build new equipment for ourselves and just give ukraine the old shit.
I'm still failing to see how this is beneficial to the USA... giving old equipment to a losing country?

Yeah I don’t think it is a joke, honestly. What better way to keep your base voting against their best interests than pay them to do it? If I give you .01% of what I plan to steal you’ll be stoked because it’s .01% more than you’re getting in stimulus checks now. Nevermind that the 5k check actually cost you 500k in detrimental policy changes and resulting inflation. It’s like when a car insurance company sends you a check every six months for being accident free— but being enrolled in this program increases your premiums more than the checks…
BradFiAusNzCoCaAnd now they’re floating the idea of a $5k stimulus check? Is this a joke?
Maga people are watching Trump meet with Putin and Zelensky and attempt to end the war. Not sure wtf you're talking about. Democrats were pushing this for 3 years.
