Any of the trump supporters in this thread at all worried about the increase in executive authority the president will have if Trump gets everything he wants? The precedent will be set and essentially apply to any future presidents whether you like them or not.

apparently all they care about is cutting costs and bringing down the national debt, even if that includes ditching democracy.
eheaththis would have been funnier if I actually said something of substance, but I all I did was call you out so its sort of moot joke, dont you think?
Wwait hold up., LMK when you say something of substance.
VTshredder69Wwait hold up., LMK when you say something of substance.
I've yet to see it.
i never was. i was simply calling you out for copy pasting nonsense. not at one point did I seriously sit here and try and have a discussion with you, why the fuck would I do that? you're a troll

I think elon is an idiot. I think he honestly wants to control the world. I think he's paying for it dearly because Tesla is tanking now.
CaseyThis could literally be the Republican Party platform in 2025. We want whatever pisses off the libs, we stand for nothing except what this commercial real estate developer in Manhattan happens to want on any given day. We elected Alex Jones for president
I mean most Liberals hate America, so making America great again and liberal tears kinda go hand in hand.
eheathThe Elon thing is so weird, I think donny is gonna toss him under the bus at some point.
Elon built empires while liberals whine about fairness from their Starbucks lines. The left’s just mad because their bloated, do-nothing bureaucracy’s getting a kick in the pants from a guy who actually gets stuff done. If libs hate it, maybe they should’ve won the election instead of crying about ‘unelected power’ like it’s not their lobbyists who’ve been pulling strings for years. What’s your real issue—too much winning?
A lot to catch up on. Jeez this thread was running the last day or so.
But yeah, all these Trump/Elon measures are absolutely going to lead to an actual recession. So buckle up. No money to spend if people don’t have it. Everything is interconnected. Student loan repayment changes, jobs cut, healthcare/medication costs increases. The list goes on and on.

Oh yeah, because the economy was so[/i] terrible under Trump, right? Remind me—was it Trump or Biden who sent inflation skyrocketing and made everything more expensive? But sure, keep blaming the guy who actually knows how to make money
Biden inherited that mess. Supercharge was hit on inflation when Trump basically pressured the fed to put interest rates insanely low and gave out all those unrepaid loans.
SSteezleOh yeah, because the economy was so terrible under Trump, right? Remind me—was it Trump or Biden who sent inflation skyrocketing and made everything more expensive? But sure, keep blaming the guy who actually knows how to make money
Unrelated to politics because I’m becoming hyperaware that this is newschoolers but 99% of guys I’ve met that claim to be “finance guys” look like they’re able to trick shoot roofies into drinks 2 bars over
VTshredder69after all our GDP is growing at 2% annually while our debt is growing at 5%. We'll surely catch up with those stats.
BradFiAusNzCoCaBiden inherited that mess. Supercharge was hit on inflation when Trump basically pressured the fed to put interest rates insanely low and gave out all those unrepaid loans.
Oh, give me a break. Biden inherited a roaring comeback and then drove it straight into a ditch. Inflation wasn’t “supercharged” until Biden started spending like a drunken sailor, killing American energy, and handing out free money like it was Halloween candy. Trump’s low interest rates kept businesses afloat during COVID—Biden’s reckless policies turned that into runaway inflation.
SSteezleOh, I’m sorry—did you want me to change the facts just to make you feel better? I’ll try saying it slower this time so it sinks in.
For all the Trump and Musk dick riders who, either by unwillingness to reassess their views or sheer stupidity, think that what DOGE is doing is good and not a painfully obvious infringement on the concept that the USA was built on:
21 people resigned from DOGE together, stating:"We swore to serve the American people and uphold our oath to the Constitution across presidential administrations. However, it has become clear that we can no longer honor those commitments."[/i]
When the people who are watching the internal activity are the ones calling it unconstitutional, I pray your brain is able to understand that this is a problem. Think about this—don't make up some far-fetched workaround. Actually think about it.
Musk responded, saying the staffers were “Dem political holdovers” who “would have been fired had they not resigned.” Remember, even if you're a federal employee, under no circumstances should you be able to lose your job for your political beliefs.

Typical left-wing meltdown. A bunch of bureaucrats who were likely put in place by previous Democratic administrations suddenly resign, and we're supposed to believe it's some grand stand for democracy? Give me a break.
These people weren’t some neutral, Constitution-loving patriots—they were political holdovers likely working against the administration's agenda from within. When Trump was in office, the Deep State did everything they could to obstruct him at every turn, and now Musk is cleaning house the way any competent leader would.
And let’s be real—resigning in protest isn’t some noble act, it’s just a PR stunt. If they truly believed in their cause, they’d stay and fight for their vision of “democracy” from within. Instead, they ran to the media for sympathy, knowing full well the usual anti-Trump talking heads would eat it up.
Musk is right—these were political actors who would’ve been removed anyway. You don’t get to sabotage an administration and then cry foul when the leadership takes action. America First means putting the will of the people ahead of entrenched bureaucrats trying to hold onto their power.
TOAST.Any of the trump supporters in this thread at all worried about the increase in executive authority the president will have if Trump gets everything he wants? The precedent will be set and essentially apply to any future presidents whether you like them or not.
probably not just due to the nature of the discussion.
def not happy about the nat. park cutbacks. republicans are too quick to dismiss government action. politics isn't nuanced enough. sad. (obviously not a republican only thing, anyone that supports an ideology does this)
Granby_killdozerRemind me again what “everything he wants” means because from what I’ve seen he’s just doing things that he already has the authority to do.
Creating new agencies, dissolving agencies, canceling/changing spending that was approved by Congress. Generally just stuff that Congress is responsible for he is acting as the lone decision maker. Seems like every time we get a new president they try to push the limits of their power, which given the gridlock in Congress where just about nothing gets done, I guess it could be exciting to see some new stuff happening quickly, just seems like the checks and balances of the 3 branches are going out the window.
SSteezleOh, I’m sorry—did you want me to change the facts just to make you feel better? I’ll try saying it slower this time so it sinks in.
You would have to know a single fact in the first place for that to work.
I just reread this exchange back again and, for your benefit I will summarize:
You: Fuck the libs!
Me: that is all republicans stand for anymore
You: That’s because they hate America fuck the libs!
Me: you only say the same thing over and over again
You: See quoted post above
We could probably do this 80 more times and you would never state an actual fact or articulate a single coherent policy position that isn’t just some version of screaming about a group you hate that is somehow worse.

What could possibly make you believe you are right about this other than the fact that it affirms your previous viewpoint and doesn’t force you to question anything?
You believe Elon Musk, who has so much to lose if people believe the members who resigned. You do not believe random government employees who are resigning, saying their department is acting unconstitutionally. You think it's more likely that these are paid political actors because Elon says so.
If they were actually lying and actually holdovers[/i] / political actors, don’t you think Elon might try to prove that what he’s doing is constitutional?
You are so delusional. At this point, you aren’t even licking the boot—you’re taking it all the way up the ass.
"America First means putting the will of the people ahead of entrenched bureaucrats trying to hold onto their power."[/i]
You are so close to getting it. But let’s make it clear: the "entrenched bureaucrats"[/i] are not the random employees who are getting fired—those are “the people.”[/i] The people clinging to power are the CEOs and lobbyists who keep a tight financial leash on elected officials so they can’t do anything to actually help the people being exploited.
I’d argue that an organized mass resignation does more for "their cause"[/i] than trying to fight back, getting fired, and then inevitably being crushed in court by a team of the best lawyers money can buy.
Can you give examples of spending like a drunken sailor and handing out free money? I think it’s only fair since I gave 2 examples for my position.
SSteezleOh, give me a break. Biden inherited a roaring comeback and then drove it straight into a ditch. Inflation wasn’t “supercharged” until Biden started spending like a drunken sailor, killing American energy, and handing out free money like it was Halloween candy. SSteezlePeople who claim to have lived in ‘many, many’ socialist healthcare systems always leave out the insane wait times, higher taxes, and lack of innovation. America has the best doctors and cutting-edge treatments because of free-market competition—why else do people from those ‘amazing’ systems fly here when they actually need care?
And yeah, I never said CNN is the only problem, but pretending media bias doesn’t exist is just naive. You call people ‘culty’ for not agreeing with you, but the real cult is the one that refuses to admit Biden’s policies are failing. Keep thinking you’re above it all while the rest of us deal with the mess your ‘experts’ created.
First the wait times really depend on the country. As far as taxes we wouldn't really spend anymore money. Our insurance company scam of a system is why things cost so much.
Yeah some people fly here for medical treatment. But thats people with $$$ flying in for hogh end specialists. Not the doctor you usually see.
I've had 3 friends that I know of fly to Mexico for dental work or surgeries. So yeah.
What do you mean media bias? Yes media bias exists but saying fox news is as big or bigger than "the mainstream media". It's wild they act as if its some underground channel.
I don't have a problem with people not aggreeing with me. I call people culty who seem culty. That could be the people who were obsessed with biden leading up to the election in 2020. The religious, and far right have been fairly culty with trump imo. He can do no wrong. Again, the dnc go behind biden who was 200 years old and a meme under Obama. That was stupid. But the trumpy cult people don't disagree with almost anything. Everything is good.
Sure that isn't everyone, but it's a lot of people.
I like how dealing with this mess is helping billionaires get richer and cutting all kinds of other programs to do so.
Granby_killdozerA city with “progressive” leaders and elected officials who want to harbor illegal immigrants and not punish crimes committed by minorities. Try to keep up little guy.
I mean i could ask what "woke" is but it's whatever conservatives hate at the moment. Same with cancel culture being any time a right wing person faces any consequences.
Again I wouldn't expect nuance from a person who idolizes Marv Heemeyer.
SSteezleYo, liberals on NS are so lost. You have 4 years of Trump, and you're crying so hard already. Lib's will literally convince themselves that EVERYONE regrets their vote for Trump.
Guess what people. He's got voted in TWICE. People are so delusional. If he lost his voting base, why did he get voted back in? He's doing what he campaigned on, we voted for this. Democratic Party is folding.
Idk, i saw a lot of weird signs about trump on road trips about how the election was stolen etc. But yeah liberals are being weird I guess lol.
Trump won because the DNC was dumb and pushed Kamala.
SSteezleTrump only helps the ultra-wealthy. Never heard that one before. Meanwhile, the government’s been burning through taxpayer money like it’s Monopoly cash, but yeah, let’s pretend forensic accountants are the magic fix for fraud. Because, you know, government agencies totally love transparency. And let’s be real, if Trump’s moves ruffle this many feathers, he’s probably doing something right. But hey, keep rooting for the same old ‘trust the system’ routine—I'm sure that'll work out great for the average American
Gotta love how dumb conservative believe they're one tug at their bootstraps away from being billionaires. Letting the grifters who get rich off them telling them to hate programs that help them.
I guess I'm to woke to get rich. Let me know when you become a billionaire. It's gotta be around the corner
SlushSeasonWoke is just most forms of identity politics. I'm sure fox news calls plenty of other random things woke, but it primarily refers to identity politics
I get that, I'm just saying when they do the same things it's logic and reason, when anyone else does it it's woke. Hell the most random things can be "woke" if conservatives don't like it. Its smart and its working but jesus it's absurd.
theabortionatorI mean i could ask what "woke" is but it's whatever conservatives hate at the moment. Same with cancel culture being any time a right wing person faces any consequences.

Lol dumbass I gave you a concrete definition and your response is DER DER! NO! ITS WHATEVER CONSERVATIVES HATE AT THE MOMENT! DER MARVIN HEMEYER!! Shut the fuck up we’ve been complaining about these things for years, this isn’t some flavor of the month reactionary shit unlike the stuff you libs complain about every time Trump cracks a joke on twitter.

Dude, your boy won the election and you're still next level butthurt
It’s crazy how conservatives pretend they’re the ones who understand economics and inflation when they clearly don’t. Economy was booming under Trump? He was screaming about the Fed keeping rates low for Obama (which on Trumps 2016 campaign trail when I heard him say that I had a little faith as I agreed it was time to raise rates but then when he came to office he resumed pressuring the Fed to keep rates low) and here you are bragging that the markets grew at unprecedented rates with Trump but the subsequent inflation was a Joe Brandon problem. It was planned by design but you’re too dense to see it. I love being “taught about inflation” by people who weren’t buying gold and Bitcoin in 2017, you all just learned about it when Fox taught you about it and that’s your extent of understanding. You’d be rich on gold and bitcoin if you understood inflation you would have been stocking up years ago
The economic illiteracy is just astounding, you literally don’t understand Economics 101 and it’s fucking Wild hearing you talk like you do.
SSteezleFunny how the economy was booming under Trump, with record-low unemployment, rising wages, and energy independence, yet somehow he's the problem? Biden comes in, kills thousands of jobs on day one, drives inflation through the roof, sends billions overseas, and now everyone’s struggling to make ends meet. But sure, blame the guy who actually had a plan to put America first. If “Bidenomics” was working, people wouldn’t be drowning in debt, struggling to find jobs, and watching their savings evaporate. Keep blaming Trump while the people in charge now run the country into the ground.

BradFiAusNzCoCaWell that’s effectively moot in its current state. Der Führer spricht (the leader speaks) and the brown shirts enforce.
I think we have to worry when people start being exterminated. Fortunately I don't think we'll get to that point. But if we do i'll agree with your comparison to nazi germany.

So let me get this straight—you’re out here lecturing people on “Economics 101” while completely ignoring reality? The economy was booming under Trump, with record-low unemployment, rising wages, and a stock market that shattered records. But suddenly, when Biden stumbles in, prints trillions of dollars like it’s Monopoly money, kneecaps domestic energy production, and sends inflation skyrocketing, it’s all somehow Trump's fault?
And nice flex on Bitcoin and gold. Congrats, you predicted inflation like every economist has been warning about for decades—what a visionary. But here’s the real kicker: inflation was not a problem under Trump because we had smart policies—low taxes, deregulation, and energy independence. The second Biden took office, everything went to hell, and now we’re all paying for it at the gas pump and grocery store.
By then it will be too late. Nazis didn’t start doing crazy shit right away. Started small, like the us is.
VTshredder69I think we have to worry when people start being exterminated. Fortunately I don't think we'll get to that point. But if we do i'll agree with your comparison to nazi germany.

Oh, here we go again, another lecture about how conservatives are too dumb to realize they’re being “grifted” while the government that actually takes their money is somehow their best friend.
Nobody thinks they’re one bootstrap pull away from billions. We just prefer working for what we have instead of waiting for some politician to hand it to us. But hey, keep telling yourself that government programs are the only thing standing between you and ruin. Meanwhile, I’ll keep doing my thing—no bitterness, no excuses.
theabortionatorFirst the wait times really depend on the country. As far as taxes we wouldn't really spend anymore money. Our insurance company scam of a system is why things cost so much.

Seems like a good call lol
Oh, so now we’re pretending government-run healthcare wouldn’t cost more? Cute. Our system is expensive because of bureaucracy, not in spite of it. But sure, let’s trust the same people who run the DMV to handle life-or-death medical decisions.
Yeah, some rich people fly here for top-tier specialists—because they know where the best care is. Meanwhile, your friends are flying to Mexico for cut-rate surgeries. Kinda proving the point, don’t you think?
And media bias? Come on. Acting like Fox News is some fringe network while every major outlet pushes the same narrative is just silly. But I get it—when people disagree with you, they’re “cultists.” When they nod along, they’re just “informed.”
And of course, the grand finale—complaining about billionaires getting richer while supporting the very policies that make it happen. But hey, at least you threw in a sarcastic “good call lol” to really drive it home.
BallClapperBy then it will be too late. Nazis didn’t start doing crazy shit right away. Started small, like the us is.
You're correct. But just because people are being laid off and things are being shaken up doesn't mean we are going towards nazi Germany. A lot has to happen in 4 years for that to happen.
On another note. Bill clinton did something that Trump is currently doing. Clinton was the only president since Truman to actually maintain a budget surplus. Elon probably isn't going about it the correct way but Both Clinton and Obama did similar things and were wayyyy more fiscally responsible compared to Bush.
