eheathAnything can be media manufactured gtfo dude, everyone in politics manufactures what they want the media to push.
But in this case, I don't need the media to manufacture anything, i watched the videos myself, people who are part of Trump's administration putting up Nazi salutes and not condemning it. That's just an observation, the media had no part in this.
But go ahead with your song and dance, again I'm really hoping for you own sake that you're just trolling.
Ah yes, the classic ‘I saw a video, so it must be true’ argument. No context, no critical thinking, just straight to ‘Nazi!’—because that’s the only playbook the left has. Meanwhile, Trump has a Jewish daughter
eheathJust quoting this one for emphasis because there things that are 'truly as bad as claimed' that are swept under the rug every fucking day dude. this rhetoric is fucking bananas, at one point you say to ignore the media, and then you say that we should only take something seriously if the media talks about it.
You realize how fucking moronic and contradictory your statements are, right? You have to be trolling.

So which is it—trust the media or don’t? The point is to think for yourself instead of picking and choosing outrage based on what fits the narrative. The media buries real scandals all the time, but when it comes to Trump, suddenly everything is the ‘worst thing ever.’ If calling that out is ‘bananas,’ then enjoy the media’s daily spoon-feeding—just don’t expect everyone else to swallow it.
Lonely@SSteezle Could you explain how shuttering the consumer financial protection bureau is an incredibly good policy and why you are especially in favor of it?
As an extra challenge see if you can answer without using the words “lib”, “xir xur xey” and “the media”
Imagine if your school had a rule that only one teacher got to decide all the rules for everyone—without asking the principal, the school board, or even the students. That teacher could make rules that sounded nice but actually made things harder for everyone, like saying kids can only buy lunch from one expensive food stand instead of bringing their own.
The CFPB is kind of like that teacher. It was supposed to protect people from bad banks, but instead, it made so many rules that small banks struggled to survive, and it became harder for people to get loans or credit. If we get rid of it, we let more banks compete fairly, which means better options and lower costs for everyone—just like letting kids choose where to get their lunch!
snowfinderAnswer the question, why do you want you fellow Americans that support policies like free health care and education that you and your family would benefit from, why do you want to own them so much you lose those benefits too?
Free health care? Ask Canadians how that's working out for them...Free healthcare sounds great, but Canada’s system has some serious downsides. Wait times can be crazy long—people sometimes wait months for surgeries or treatments that aren’t emergencies. Plus, getting in to see a specialist can be a pain, and in some places, you have to travel hours just to see a doctor. Why do you think America has the best doctors in the world?
SSteezleSo you dont' get excited about a 7k gain? How about this gain from last week?
I'm one of a group of founding engineers of a quantitative asset manager that just broke a billion AUM last year. So, no. But I'm sure your parents are very excited for their sweet son.

Oh dude, this isn't from my account, it's from your moms.
That's awesome you're rich though. You should help house illegals, so the rest of us taxpayers don't have to fund it.

I'm not trying to hire on a dead ski forum with 22 active members. I am just always open to talking to new people to see what drives them - we've created multiple roles out of simply wanting someone on our team. It's how most boutique funds operate.
VTshredder69Gotta start somewhere. I realize how non finance people don't think it'll do much but it's somewhere to start. Not saying what they're cutting is correct or not important. it should all be audited before being cut. But there is definitely stuff that can be eliminated.
Once again a lot of people, including myself, see the need to reduce the deficit and cut spending. The way it is being done right now is just straight up dumb. Nobody seems to know what's going on, good/essential employees are losing their jobs. It's all being done without the approval of Congress despite the departments and funding were both created and funded by them. The executive branch seems to be getting way to powerful, that doesn't apply to just this administration.
Seems like you are not 100% on the way things are being handled but instead of having a conversation and saying what you disagree with Trump on you just turn to trolling the libs.
There is $220 billion medical debt in America, and a large percentage of paychecks go to medical health coverage that doesn't really cover anything. Add on top large yearly deductibles, and a healthcare system that is falling behind the rest of the world due to insurance companies unwilling to pay for their clients, but yeah at least there isn't a long wait to see a specialist. Wait never mind it takes months in America too.
Again it's best not to speak unless you know what you are talking about. Also answer the question why do you want to own the libs so badly you get shitty healthcare that costs way too much?

SSteezleOh please, the ‘Trump is a Nazi’ narrative is beyond tired. Let’s talk facts. Trump moved the U.S. embassy to Jerusalem, recognized the Golan Heights, and brokered the Abraham Accords—historic peace deals between Israel and Arab nations. He also signed an executive order protecting Jewish students from anti-Semitism on college campuses. Meanwhile, the real rise in anti-Semitism is coming from the left—pro-Hamas rallies, calls to wipe Israel off the map, and members of Congress openly pushing anti-Jewish rhetoric. But sure, let’s pretend Trump is the problem because of some media-spun nonsense about a ‘Nazi salute.’ Try again.
This guy gets it. All Elon and Bannon are doing is signaling that they like Hitler. They like Hitler, so what? Is that a crime to like someone? Some people had their doubts about whether they were into Hitler, or maybe not so much, but Elon and Steve just like Hitler. Somehow the “woke fake news media” can’t understand that they just want you to know that they like Hitler without getting all up in arms about it. Fucking bullshit man, Let’s Go Brandon
VTshredder69You're right! we are doomed guys. Why even bother cutting a 1.8 Trillion annual deficit. I'm sure we can continue operating like that forever.
Anyone with basic cognitive function (no lead poisoning, so that excludes you) could tell you that the solution to a $1.8T deficit probably isn’t to fire thousands of government employees (many of whom have very important jobs).
The fact that an unelected billionaire is going apeshit in the federal government’s records and finances should be extremely concerning to everyone, especially conservatives who believe in things like personal freedom, democracy, and any kind of class solidarity. (These are the principles that Republicans used to pride themselves on.)
Trump supporters aren’t Republicans, they aren’t conservatives, and they don’t believe in a working class that holds any kind of power.Being a Trump supporter means being a docile and complacent pussy and quite possibly a fascist.

It's a dog and pony show to overstate their worth. They're not even gonna scratch the surface with this strategy. Sure the premise to improve efficiency is great but the targets of their changes are going to have minimal impact. We are already seeing the exponential negative impacts to come from cutting various funding sources and shutting down or gutting departments like USAID. Then the elephant in the room no one is talking about is that all these changes and requests for information by DOGE also cost money...a shit load of money...to gather and report all this stuff. Think of all the wasted hours people are spending sending Elon an email with their update of "what did I do this week". I will be shocked if the government ends up better off at the end of this.
Don't even get me started on the conflicts of interest and blatant targeting of agencies who have caused issues for Elon's companies. If you can't see the corruption in our government then you never will.

Ahh yes they are going after those small banks like...Capital One, Experian, Walmart, Apple, TD, JPmorgan and Comerica.
Not a serious individual.
So just to be clear, you're a drain-the-swamp sorta guy, but you don't like any regulations on larger entities engaging in fraud or frivolous behavior but don't have any issue with conflict of interest in the current adminstration?
Hey chat, is it really the case that the cfpb writes laws, or does ssteezle just have less civics knowledge than the mexican ms13 transgender liberal terrorists that allegedly make up 90% of his local community?
Here's one of those awful evil enforcement actions according to ssteezle
"On January 16, 2025, the Bureau issued an order against Block, Inc. (Block), a nonbank headquartered in Oakland, California which operates Cash App, a mobile payments application through which consumers can send and receive money through peer-to-peer transfers. The Bureau found that for years after the inception of Cash App, Block failed to provide effective customer service for Cash App, including by failing to provide live telephone agents, which prevented consumers from being able to have their financial issues addressed in a proper and timely fashion and resulted in fake customer service lines through which consumers’ information would be stolen, in a manner that was unfair in violation of the Consumer Financial Protection Act of 2010 (CFPA). The Bureau also found that Block failed to take timely, appropriate, and effective measures to prevent, detect, limit, and address fraud on the Cash App platform in a manner that was unfair in violation of the CFPA."
These damn agencies and their want to follow established law! So evil and liberal and xir/xur!
If @SSteezle was given the opportunity to sell 5000 Americans down the river to have a chance at fondling the tangerine man's tangerines, ssteezle would ask "Could I make it 10,0000 Americans?"

Every dumb republican thinks they're a famous athleate than can see all the specialists whenever. Also btw a lot that are immigrants.
Also as somebody who lived in many of the countries maga folks shit on. They like their health care. Fuck we consider south Africa to be 3rd world. You can go to a hospital for free there. In America we have all the shitshow red tape.
Plus even when actual fraud was shown, the health care industries opted to pass it on to the people because it might be cheaper tham battling in court. That's true.
So fuck off with this fake ass "everyone loves american health care" shit. Other countries love their health care and mock us. But im sure you travel so much with your horrible takes.
Our healthcare system would be better and cheaper if we swapped. But no use trying to convimce people like you of reality

Oh wow, another genius who thinks 'free' means magically better. Yeah, South Africa’s hospitals are so[/i] great—why do their wealthy citizens fly here for care? Weird.
And yeah, America’s healthcare system has problems, mostly thanks to government red tape and corporate greed—both of which get worse with socialist-style systems. But sure, let’s trust the same government that can’t fix potholes to run all of healthcare. Brilliant.
By the way, if other countries’ healthcare is so amazing, why do their leaders and elites come here for treatment? Maybe take a break from the Reddit echo chamber and do some actual thinking. But hey, enjoy that 'free' healthcare—hope you like waiting months for an MRI!

Ah yes, the CFPB, out here committing the ultimate crime: making sure companies don’t let scammers run wild while customers scream into the void. Truly, the stuff of authoritarian nightmares. Next thing you know, they’ll be forcing banks to…have actual phone support? The horror! How will corporate America survive this reign of terror?
Damn, liberals on NS are so triggered! Eheath comes back out of the woodwork. Followed by @theabortionator who brings up healthcare every posts, yet lives in the USA and has not a clue how universal healthcare works.
I come back to 14 quotes of my posts. Keep watching CNN NS! They told you trump didn't stand a chance. Over half the country voted for what's happening, so just remember. You're the MINORITY, despite how many thumbs downs I get on this :) The more thumbs downs, the more triggered you all are!
SuperSexySkier69can we talk about the fact that discussing politics on newschoolers is fucking insane

I’ve always tried to be apolitical and independent to not sound like a librul but Trump voters are fucking retarded. Everyone is losing their job, the job hiring market was already just full of ghost hiring ads, consumer debt out of control, and stocks still dropping. What kind of “bIdEnOmIcS” screaming idiot thought Trump had any sort of plan despite revenge? And I’m pretty insulated, I don’t have nearly as much skin in the game as normal folk. All you working class people better get good and efficient at eating the rich

I'm hearing the goal is to lay off 10% of government workers. How is that everyone?
State employees aren't federal employees either, contradictory to what most people think.

Funny how the economy was booming under Trump, with record-low unemployment, rising wages, and energy independence, yet somehow he's the problem? Biden comes in, kills thousands of jobs on day one, drives inflation through the roof, sends billions overseas, and now everyone’s struggling to make ends meet. But sure, blame the guy who actually had a plan to put America first. If “Bidenomics” was working, people wouldn’t be drowning in debt, struggling to find jobs, and watching their savings evaporate. Keep blaming Trump while the people in charge now run the country into the ground.
theabortionatorImpressive. I have lived in many many countries with socialized medical systems and they love it. I have a medical plan in CA that's amazing. But sure, please keep being wrong about things you don't know.

People who claim to have lived in ‘many, many’ socialist healthcare systems always leave out the insane wait times, higher taxes, and lack of innovation. America has the best doctors and cutting-edge treatments because of free-market competition—why else do people from those ‘amazing’ systems fly here when they actually need care?
And yeah, I never said CNN is the only problem, but pretending media bias doesn’t exist is just naive. You call people ‘culty’ for not agreeing with you, but the real cult is the one that refuses to admit Biden’s policies are failing. Keep thinking you’re above it all while the rest of us deal with the mess your ‘experts’ created.
theabortionatorSo are you admitting to reality that fox news is one of the biggest media empires and the "maintains media" as talked about there doesn't exist?
I don't even know why im replying to you
Oh please, acting like Fox News is some unstoppable media empire while CNN, MSNBC, The New York Times, The Washington Post, and basically every major tech platform push the same left-wing narratives is laughable. Fox is one of the few outlets that doesn’t tow the establishment line, and that’s why it gets attacked constantly.
And if you ‘don’t know why you’re replying,’ maybe it’s because deep down you know the corporate media machine is working against regular Americans, and you just don’t want to admit it.

Adult population of US is ~250million adults, ~77 million votes for trump. So a majority of Americans did not vote for trump, about 1/3 did. Almost half of voter voted for trump, but still not quite the majority as there were ~78 million total for the other candidates.

Mayor Adams here in NYC is rejecting the sanctuary city status because it's literally destroying our city. 1 Billion on hotel bills for migrants. Where is that money coming from? Some is from FEMA.
How does that make sense when our veterans and natural disaster victims are getting next to nothing.
I guess being patriotic is frowned upon these days.
