What are the options for a boot that is 1-1.5 too big?

Title says it all. I made a purchase on some K2 Recon’s last year and after my first full day of skiing, my feet were killing me.


the boots are 27.5 and I wear a size 9 shoe. Which leaves me at about 1-1.5 sizes too big. I’ve been interested in seeing how the patriot footbeds liner sleeves do in an attempt so not buy a new pair of boots.


any suggestions? Or should I just anticipate buying a new pair of boots with a pro boot fitter?

Cut your losses and sell them. See a boot fitter and let them know your situation. More than likely they will put you into a boot that’s actually a size smaller than your foot and work on it from there.

New boot. Its like impossible to make a boot smaller. Easier to make a small boot bigger. Get a 26.5 n expand it where you need to. You can DM me if you really wanna get into it lol

If your shoes are size 9, you can likely go down to 25.

That’s why ya just gotta try em on man haha I’m a 9 and can’t do a 25.5 (without serious modifications)

I had this problem last season. You can check the thread on my page about it, it might help. But honestly, your best option is getting new boots. Or used. But you know what I mean. Trust me if you can afford it the 300 dollars is worth every penny for a new pair. Boots are everything in my opinion so ya
