Replying to On-camera led light

Thinking about getting a led light to go on the shoe mount on my dvx100. What is the difference between a led light meant for filming and a battery-powered worklight from the hardware store, other than being able to adjust the temperature, brightness ect. Not trying to get professional looking footage, just trying to go as bright as possible without spending a lot. I remember seeing a story post from a swedish crew with a crazy rig with like 4 work lights on it. Suede or digit maybe
