On-camera led light

Thinking about getting a led light to go on the shoe mount on my dvx100. What is the difference between a led light meant for filming and a battery-powered worklight from the hardware store, other than being able to adjust the temperature, brightness ect. Not trying to get professional looking footage, just trying to go as bright as possible without spending a lot. I remember seeing a story post from a swedish crew with a crazy rig with like 4 work lights on it. Suede or digit maybe

just get a big ass maglight flashlight and tape it on top, it'll make it nice and steady too.

that being said, i think LED lights that go on your coldshoe are like $30 so not too bad. the worklights would be on stands, no?

Since you want something bright as weiner, get the cheap work light that shoots white light. the RBG ones are trash and the colors are way too dim to do anything with. I bought mine for 30 bucks ish cad 5-6 years ago and never had a problem with it.

You can find cheap ones on eBay. It’s worth the extra money if it has light diffusers makes a big difference in the footage especially fisheye stuff so it’s not just a bright spot in the center of the shot rather a more dispersed illumination

This. Got mine on eBay and make sure you have an option for diffusers, I made that mistake initially
