partyandBShttps://www.newschoolers.com/videos/watch/1099393/--YouTubeheres a link. its pretty dope and has a vibe that i can appreciate. definitely not a hype edit or something i would throw on before going to ski. more of a post hot tub and chill at home vibe. they ended the level 1 film fest in denver with this and it was a good wind down.
personally im sooo fuckin sick of the early 2000s skate edit look though. shits played the fuck out. not everything needs to be a filmed with a grainy fisheye camera. a decades old iphone is more crisp than this. i will say for the vibe of this cut it does work well.
ProfessorOakAt least the texture of it adds an element to the films, there’s only so far that a 4k go pro follow clip can go
partyandBSfor sure and for this cut it seems to be a critical factor. if there wasn’t sooo many of these coming out lately, i think i might appreciate this style a bit more. almost seems gimmicky at this point. if it was a songs length or a reoccurring theme throughout that would also be dope but i think having mostly crisp filming really highlights the skiing and the landscapes and build etc.
not trying to be a hater as this is really well
done and ive watched it multiple times even.

RudyLAll great criticisms on the flick, I appreciate and do spend a good amount of time on NewSchoolers reading all of this. It's always a pleasure to see what you guys think of our work.
When it comes to the 16mm, some of you might feel like it's played out but I truly do it with Tristan because we love the look of it. We feel like it ads so much personality to our films, it can capture the authenticity that our digital cameras cannot. We did post a lot to the gram, for small crews like us it's sometimes hard to get the traction going & maybe we did post too much?
Anyhow, thanks for watching guys I truly appreciate it.
To keep the conversation going, what was your favourite spot?
Christian_Baleu guys did the 16mm well, it was more a comment about how common it is across ski and snowboard videos. For insta, i just felt like that sw lip on the wooden rail was too dope for people to see it before watching it in the video.
anyway, personal fav spot was the wooden rail to the stone ditch thing. appreciated how there was no snow on the stone. In general all the no-takeoff spots were dope, fire escape clip especially.
RudyLskiers really just started using it in a street skiing setting i feel like. We look up to snowboarders a lot and honestly 95% of those spots were snowboarders spots, sometimes nodding at exactly who we watch by the way we filmed it, what tricks we did, etc. snowboarding videos are our biggest source of inspiration so if you liked delirium watch snowboard videos really hahaha
Raf.Diaz.Loved it i a big big fan of rails with hole that dont seem possible and on of my favorite shot is the ski hold kicker to Smith predz 2 most skateboarding clip ever
TroyBallsackphil gaucher is still just as cool as the first edit i saw him in
Christian_BaleThe 16mm i can agree with, but the panasonic footage looks great to me. IMO filming in a higher definition than that doesn't really add much, it's not like you can't already see all the tricks perfectly well. I do agree that many videos are filmed on panasonics nowadays - either hpx, hmc, hvx or the newer 4k cams - but what would be a better option? RED cams? gopros? I think there's a good reason lots of people film on the same/similar cams but I think that filmers in general need to do more to stand out than in the past.
hi_vis360I actually loved the 16 mm and wish there had been more action shots with that and less with the Panasonic, I think when the 16mm is just used for lifestyle shots it makes it seem like more of a gimmick.
I thought this movie was super super sick, there are some low key crazy stept level spots in here like the fire escape clip, and overall the creativity in spot selection is amazing. Liked the soundtrack it had good energy and variation this one is def up there with stand corrected and wasteland
