michael_bcFebruary is when most Europeans have their winter break & resorts tend to be crowded. The more affordable the destination, the more crowded.
You will probably be flying into Geneva or Zurich (or maybe Munich or Milan) and taking a shuttle or train from there.
If you will be mostly on piste you might want to go for one of the huge areas. Portes du Soleil (France) gets a ton of powder and is relatively affordable. St. Anton (Austria) the same, huge area, epic skiing. Tignes-Val d'Isere (France) is also really nice.
Zermatt (Switzerland) is epic but expensive. Laax is awesome, and St. Moritz (but pricy). The up side is that these places get less crowded.
A little less known Alpe d'Huez (France) and Serfaus (Austria) are still huge and very nice ski areas.
Bad experiences (IMO) are Ischgl (too many drunks)... Dolomiti Superski (Val Gardena etc. just all a bit of a mess)... also not a huge fan of Trois Vallees (the huge crowds and poor snow record tend to make it icy).
RodiganDoes that include flights for 4 ?
jweberYeah. I read in skimag that flying into a different airport during peak season and then taking a train to the alps could be cheaper, any merit to that?
PartyBullshiitYour prices are off if you’re including flights for 4 in that. Are you bringing your own skis?
