I really like the look of these idk what performance ability it enhances maybe it carves better but I think they are great. Unfortunately the market for these is very small. Line has pescado but hasn’t come out with a tolerable top sheet in ages. I think black crow has one as well. But that’s about it. I’m seeing a trend of traditional freestyle skis starting to flatten the rear rocker but I propose a different revolution. A fishtail revolution. That guy that did it with his Vishnu wides is such a dog also.

Moment also has one called the comi, again a powder ski. The idea behind the fish tail is in soft snow it will sink the rear of the ski to float better, part of the reason the recommended mount point is so far back.

I'm hopefully going to be skiing these early this winter when we get enough snow. The Recreation is my daily driver these days, I've flexed the Celebration but not skied it. It's certainly a lot stiffer than the other Simply skis though.

When Pollard designed the Pescado he said something like:
"Twin tip powder skis actually don't make any sense. They are great for landing backwards, but compromise the performance when skiing forwards. By removing the rear rocker and creating a swallow tail, you make the tips float better, while maintaining the effective edge in the tail."
But then everyone realised that they look cool so now we have the Sakana and the Recreation for people to rip park on even though swallowtail was literally just designed for powder.
Sakanas one of my favorite skis I've ever ridden. Unfortunately their durability is not any better than the rest of line's lineup and I blew out an edge scraping one rock. Will not be buying a new pair this season with the awful bandana graphic

They definitely look the part. If they are light weight and floaty count me in.
Most of them are purely aesthetic. There is a little bit of weight savings in the tail, obviously. In some cases it definitely does help increase float in powder by letting the very end of the tail sink easily.
As soon as these are available in Canada I'll be grabbing a pair

I actually agree with you. I just looked th up for the past 5 years; none are amazing, some are pretty questionable, but I don't buy skis based on top sheet design. If the ski was right and the price was right I could overlook any of those designs I think.
