My apartment building was about to throw this away since the wheels had been stolen from it and it was sitting for over 2 years. Slapped some 4 piston brakes I took off my trail bike and put some 47mm 650b gravel wheels/tires on it. I call it the gravel commuter. It's kind of a POS but it's pretty fun to rip down double track and ride around town. Gonna put some mud guards and a luggage rack on it. Tempted to upgrade the bb but I'm currently under $200 into it and am inclined to keep it that way.
This year I did more MTB than gravel, but Snotty Boy and I did some big ones: a 200, a backyard ultra, and a 300 km ride with friends last summer. Maybe next summer will be a gravel summer again.
Does CX count? I do dumb singletrack/jeep trail rides on it that could technically be considered gravel. Still don't have a pic of me riding the damn thing lol, so here's one of me running up steps

oldmanskiYes, it is! My wife and I had a home right there with the backyard towards it. Makes me sick to my stomach that we sold it.
Damn that's sick, in one of the subdivisions or one of the houses off Janie/Jay? How long ago? In the last 2-3 years they've improved the jump lines, put in a dope drop/battleship, and made a really unique all-weather line made out of recycled concrete. Super cool place

We lived on Trail Creek Way. Right across the road from the park. We sold it in 2019 and regret it every time it is brought up. Life happens though.
It was a sick park then and Id imagine it has only improved! Glad you are enjoying it, hope it snows a bunch and Bogus has a good season for all of you there!
Dani-BDid your entire drivetrain shit the bed by the end? I've seen pics of the muddy sections
Ha this year it was perfect for anyone not in the elite category.
It started off cloudy, low 70s, no humidity, no wind.
Sun came out around mile 80-100? but still no wind.
There was finally a brief headwind from mile 170-203 but the bigger issue for me was stomach rot. I had an overly concentrated hydration pack with Tailwind by the end. Couldn't stomach anything from mile 150-202, even water. Basically rinsed my mouth and spit it back out.
I think I finished in 13:05 moving, 13:50-ish total?
TOAST.I want to do unpaved one of these years looks like a lot of fun. Having a hard time convincing myself to do longer rides this past year though.
UnPaved is great. They have a TON of different distance options and the nice thing is, you don't have to sign up for a specific one. You can show up planning to do the 120 and then do the 30 for all they care.
I just returned from a trip to Arizona planned around gravel cycling, with the final destination of Patagonia. I mostly used dirtyfreehub for routes, which was a great resource for not having to do route planning on my own. I really enjoyed being in warm weather for a couple of weeks and am now ready to put away the bikes and ski.
McDowell Regional Park- Most fun 1 hr ride I have done. It was basically a flow trail for gravel bikes
Owl Head Loop- Pretty flat and would be a good ride in other places but not the same league as the other routes.
Patagonia 50- This was my birthday ride, very pretty and not too difficult. Picture is at the border of Mexico
