Opinion on park edits with either only rail or only jump clips

Either is fine as long as there's some feature variety. Throw in a cannon rail or something with a gap. Or for jumps, hit a big hip, or mix up the takeoffs/landings

yes i would still rather watch an edit with full variety of rails and jumps though

An edit can be anything. There are no rules. The rest is just preference/taste. I’d rather watch something more creative or energetic with little feature variety as opposed to the opposite. But again, it’s all subjective.

ideally you have a variety of features but sometimes you gotta work with what you've got. Like I'll gonna try to make an edit when my hill opens but zero chance they have jumps lol.

Nick Lyons once said something along the lines of "A good edit should showcase YOUR skiing. Film the tricks that you are good at, not the tricks that you want to do because they are hard" and truthfully this is what the best edits all have in common. So i guess it doesn't really matter if it's all jumps or all rails, as long as the tricks are "yours" and the filmer has a decent understanding of how a camera works, the edit will bang IMO.

if you are referring to jib league recaps I’d strongly recommend watching the documentary “the league” to understand why they sesh the same feature for big chunks of the edit.


if you’re talking in general, as long as there’s variety in styles and tricks done imo it plays fine.
