No surprise there. Seems like ON3P has a very difficult time attracting (and retaining) highly talented skiers. Wonder what the reason is there since they seem to be well liked in the NS community.

yes a lot of their graphics are in questionable taste, but are their skis actually bad? genuinely wondering cuz I've never ridden a pair. I don't see people sharing negative experiences about them breaking etc. on here often like I do with line.

I've legit never heard a bad thing about J Skis. Top sheets are so subjective, i always dismiss any criticism and just focus on overall product.

I love j lev for basically creating our sport but the current state of j skis is pathetic

My guess would be they may lack the ability to pay skiers, and if a company comes to someone and offers them any money at all they'll probably take it. Complete speculation on that but I doubt many people are getting paid by ski brands to ride skis, especially smaller brands like ON3P who aren't farming out part of their production to fill rental ski orders for resorts

Some pretty big names have been on the brand over the years, and spent many years on the brand. I don't know how you can expect a small domestic brand to hold on to all the talent when they blow up and are able to field bigger offers. Sponsorship is about return on investment. ON3P has an amount they can invest. I'm sure they know what kind of engagement the people they sponsor generate.


And FYI. Instagram followers =/= enagement.

Seems like a good fit! I could see him getting a limited run pro model like they did with some of the Strictly crew a few seasons ago.

Yeeah, i think he likes them, but he’s been on vølkl since he was a kid. I think he’s interested in something new. i can’t ecsactly quote the podcast but i think he spoke about it not being that interesting to him.

They’ve talked about it before. They aren’t set up to pay what the big brands are to athletes. It seems like everyone who’s moved on has done so without any lasting hard-feelings but that’s just my uneducated guess. I imagine ON3P thought they could maybe keep guys like Magnus and Karl by giving them pro-models but who knows.

I doubt they can afford to push through a pro model this year when they've just released their "Carve" ski, don't think they've improved their quality from when they first starting putting models out?

I don't think they can afford the best freeride skier of the generation without giving him promodel. They should be able to afford to develop new ski during next season.
