Poacher true length

Bought some poachers thinking the would measure at least true to size but the 184 measures in at 182,5. Still debating if I should keep them (I’m 194/ 6’4). Any tall guys have experience on the Poachers?

Dude there is no way 2 cms are going to make those skis unrideable, it’s less than an inch

Yeah I know but I was kinda hoping k2 skis would still measure longer than the stated length

I'm 210, 6'2, have rode 184 poachers plenty and never had a problem.

i wouldn't let 1.5cm in either direction concern you too much. it's up to you what you want/need out of your skis but the good news is poachers are generally a good ski for bigger guys because they actually have some backbone to them, which makes a big difference in how much they support you. if it was some flimsy soft ski i'd be more concerned

Thanks for the quick reply. Might as well try them and since they’re only for park I’m not to worried.

I’d worry about them blowing up more than being a mm different than the length written on the ski

im 6'2 245LB and for park poacher feels great, rode them for a season, and they held up great and were burlier enough to take on the rest of the mountain aswell

6'4 180lbs rode poachers for a season in 184. they skied fine and are surprisingly stiff.

ended up exploding the sidewall after about 50 on rails so cant complain.

K2 has always measured shorter. I think because they measure the material flat, before the ski is pressed. As hi_vis360 said, the 1.5 cm won't make any difference. I haven't ridden poachers but I'm about 10 lbs heavier and 2 inches shorter than you and I have used a 182 Liberty Helix 88, which is less beefy but a similar flex to the poacher. They were fine for anything in the park. Only time they got scary was very high speeds on hard snow and bigger drops. I liked the low swing weight. I have 100+ days on the Helixes and they are pretty beat up but I still use them for the backyard setup and urban.

Gotta pay attention to how each company measures the skis. Some do pre press and will end up shorter. Some do post press and will be true to size
