New boots 2025

I’m probably gonna go with what fits the best out of the box. But I’m looking at the following

Salomon S/Pro Alpha 120 GW (tried these on)
Dalbello Il Moro Pro 3D Wrap Ski Boots
K2 FL3X Revolve KF Ski Boots 2025

looking for a 28.5, 99 last, low volume.
200lbs, 5’10”, east coast, learning park, aggressive skier. Looking for all day comfort.

thoughts?

Out of the box, Salomons fit best for me. I’ve noticed they have a wide, flat toe box and higher instep. I ski all day in S/Race 110 without discomfort. Don’t quote me on it, but I recall a boot fitter saying Dalbello tend to have less forward lean than Salomon, which aligns with my experience comparing Salomon/atomic and Dalbello race boots.

But main point being buy whichever feels best out of the box.

If they fit out the box chances are they are too big. @tomPietrowski @onenerdykid help these lost souls.

I tried the s pro 130 boa. Was really nice overall just wasn’t the perfect fit for my foot. Ended up in a k2 recon 130 boa.

When trying new ski boots on how tight should the toes feel? I tried on some s/pro alphas and my toes were at the end of the boot but not cramped. I tried some lang boots on and my toes were cramped. I don’t want to get too small of a boot but I also don’t want to buy a boot and the toes pack out like my last pair.

Right I was at the boot fitter. I mentioned that my toes were more cramped in the lang but were at the end but comfy in the s/pros so he went with the s/pro as the better fit. I’m worried that if I get the s/pro that they will pack out and be too big. So brand new not heat fitted/molded. How tight should they feel so there aren’t too big when they pack out?

I Can’t comment on fit since that’s personal to you, but in terms of durability and quality of materials, it would go:

1. Dalbello moro
2. Salomon
3. K2 fl3x

would recommend against the k2 flex out of the three just because they haven’t innovated on any boot technology except for changing the colors. Salomon and dalbello are actively improving their product selection every year so for that reason alone I’d go with either of those two.

A good boot fitter will size you down and then punch. Go to a specialist, George at evo or rei won’t be able to properly fit you. Chances are they are sales and don’t know much about boots.

I got fitted by a “boot fitter” at my closest shop. 1.5 hours away. Delaware doesn’t have hills so boot fitters are nonexistent. I’m going to the loft in tannersville pa and 940 board sports soon. Vermont probably has the best east coast boot fitters but that’s 8-9 hours away.

i heard the guy at 940 was recommended by a few people. He is kinda gruff and seems to have a bad attitude towards park skiers but worth a try. The loft is the recommended spot by the locals.

i really want a great boot fitter but it’s the lower east coast so im kinda screwed.

send me any recommendations on boot fitters.

Ski center LTD in Maryland has some really good bootfitters and should be pretty close to you if you’re in Delaware

Nice, good choice. You’ll be really happy you went with the dalbello over the k2 flex. The shell on those will also be easier to heat mold if you ever need to.

Go to a good bootfitter, most of those work at smaller shops who give them some say in what boots are on the wall. Buy as small as you can, it will pack out, and it’s easy to make them bigger. Don’t go get fit by a shop then buy them online. You’re just a f’n douche if you do that. It might be cheaper buying it from the shop. We charge $150 to heat mold a boot that someone brings in off the street. We charge more for a footbed than if you bought the boot from us. We charge $75per hour for boot fitting, which is free if you buy the boot from us. Some of these charges are negotiable, unless you buy the boot online.

Yeah the boot fitter was highly recommended by many,
. They’re didn’t have the boot I wanted in store but he had me try one on and said it’s the same as the one I ordered through them. His confidence was not cocky but very clear he knew what he was doing. They are currently held up on a ship so I might have to cancel and order online but I kept my order through them for now. Absolutely true about it being cheaper through them. Boots are the same price but I’m paying $100 more in taxes. It works out because I get free adjustments/heat molding and discounted foot beds.
