Change bindings and mounting position?

Last season i bought Faction Prodigy 2.0s with some cheap bindings cause i couldn't afford better ones.
I skied all mountain most of the time bc we didn't have a local park so i got them mounted on the factory recommended "Progressive" which is -7cm from true center, bothered me a lot when skiing. This year i am switching resort to only skiing park and wanted my bindings more in the center. Should i switch bindings to a pair of Look Pivot 12s and mount them -2.5 from true center? I am worried that the old holes from the previous bindings might cause problems and harm my skis durability. Thanks

Id go anywhere from center to -2. Your old holes should be fine as long as you filled them with epoxy or something

i have mounted pretty close to older holes before, and never had anything unusual happen. they say drilling 1-2 cm away from the old holes is preffered.

Generally the rule is you can mount a ski 3 times before the durability is significantly impacted. although remounting will slightly reduce the durability, if your going to be exclusively skiing park its probably worth it to move them forwards and skiing park is pretty hard on your skis so its unlikely they'll last super long regardless.

It is more about the proximity of the holes and less about the strict number of mounts. My touring skis have 3 mounts on them and honestly may have room for one more if i moved it forward considerably, but Ive seen shops refuse a pair of skis for a 3rd mount because they were swiss cheesed from frame bindings and quiver killers.

remount at -1 and reuse your old bindings, no reason to change them. You won’t have any issues, we all do it all the time. don’t stop skiing all mountain, you’ll have more fun if you take what you learn in the park and start throwing it off nat features on the big hill.
All times are Eastern (-5)
