Neoprene boot covers

Anyone try the DryGuy neoprene boot covers and do they actually make a difference?
Going into the lodge to warm up the toes = less time for hot laps.
Ya girl cannot afford heated socks but these boot covers are like $40... fingers crossed

yeah i'd like to hear if these work. never had cold feet but have friends who do plus yeah i'm just curious if these things work. hope they do, OP!

I’ve been using boot gloves for years and they’re the best, they work really well and let me go out all day even when it’s -20 and below. Coldest day I had with them was -33(C) last year and my feet were fine

If they're not everything you hoped for just put some reflective tape around your footbed.

I used them all last season and loved them, especially on powder days. I went from warming my toes every hour to no issues (unless a really cold day).

I bought a pair last season and used them twice along with heated socks ( I bought an old model pair and some used batteries on eBay) on two really cold days. Like single digit highs (F°) They sure did help! The heated socks were great too until the batteries wore out but I was able to ski a lot longer on those days than normal.
Downside of the heated socks they're Thick. So even though my feet were warmish they were numb because they were squished. I also had this neoprene cheek/nose cover thing that I tried and that worked quite nicely except I gotta cut the nose hole a little bigger.

My Avy 1 class it was like 20 below, and the only one whose feet stayed warm was a gal who was maybe 5'1 115lbs soaking wet who used boot gloves. The dude with $300+ electric socks either they died early or they got so warm his feet would sweat then the sweat would freeze and make him even colder. He was fiddling with them the whole time and it didnt seem worth

You are partially correct. Most people’s boots are too big. Some people also aren’t as tolerant to cold as you and I. Doesn’t make them a bitch, just means they have different needs. Go touch some grass.

I have them. Never use them. Dont think they work at all. Others seem to have success. Don’t know what I’m doing wrong. Dont feel like they retain heat at all. Maybe the problem is my feet are coldish when I start the day. I don’t use them anymore.

A too-big boot won't even make your feet cold like a too small boot will.

Too small cuts off circulation which will make your feet get colder. Just like over tightening a boot will.

I wore them for a few years on patrol. I was one of two people on the team who didn’t use heated socks everyday. I just vibed with those. Still got all my toes. I wear them on tours -15 and below and when teaching courses now. They work great imo.

Here’s where I think the differences of experience come from- if it’s broke, they ain’t gonna fix it. If you have chronic ski boot cold disease, this is not going to address the underlying cause. Go boot fitter and allat. Maybe you have raynauds. In that case yeah boot suit ain’t helpin, time to get the electro socks. But if your boots fit great and you’ve got normal blood pressure and circulation; like your feet only get cold on super cold out of the ordinary days, then they can be just enough.

You are going to get called a fruit cup by your friends tho. Just to prepare you

My friend has boot covers and raves about how they solved his chronic freezing toes. I found two other brands that look great, Snux and Bootcap. I like how the Snux wraps under the mid foot compared to the elastic band on the DryGuy. my guess is that it would hold up much longer. The Bootcap looks great as well but it uses an adhesive backing to attach to the boot, therefore becoming a non removable cover. I'll be picking up the Snux this season and will be sharing my thoughts on them here.
