iH8powI haven’t but I’m inspired. My friends S4 clutch needs replacement again and I’m sure mine won’t last either. I figure the cars I have now are going to be my forever cars so might as well learn.
get the car up on jackstands, a jack or two to lower trans, I think we can do this.
officechairI tried swapping the transmission in a 2004 Forester and it ended up being a huge pain. I would have had to pull the front half shafts, which requires unbolting some of the front suspension. Don't remember why since it's been a few years. But I didn't have an impact to break some bolts. Ended up paying a shop to do it instead.

deacyeah the AWD system gets in the way a lot, Im starting to think my slave cylinder has gone bad. Clutch isn't slipping just really weird bite point feel and shifting is a bit clunky
iH8powAny leaks? My slave cylinder gave out in Home Depot parking lot I spent a week trying to flush/replace it, in the end idk if it was me or prior shop (I assume prior shop cuz they used non-oem TORX bolt) but the thread to top slave cylinder bolt was stripped so trans had to be dropped to helicoil the threading in top bolt, idk it was a disaster that could have possibly been prevented if I didn’t ignore some drops

deacprobably I would just rather not spend 2 grand, And I've never done a job this big before
