onlydacrustDoes anyone have experience living in govy in the winter? I’ve heard mixed things regarding the locals, weather, etc. Thinking about doing a season at timberline but wanted to get some input.
Splizard_WizardWinters at Mt. Hood are nice. Govy isn’t too bad either. Locals in Govy are cool, rowdy at times but good folk that look out for one another. You could literally walk to the ski bowl rope tow as well. However, the only downside that comes with living in govy is a super limited access to resources. There is a small store that you can buy groceries but it is VERY expensive. Alongside with gas on the mountain, VERY expensive. If you want to get groceries that are a little cheaper you have to go to Welches which is still an expensive grocery store in comparison to the Safeway in Hood River or Sandy. However, if you don’t care about being broke, or have a little cash stored, Govy is a great place to spend a season. Great culture, great people, and great skiing.
