So I acquired a free pair of dynafits, and everything seems fine, but the pins front and back are rusty, reckon it is fixable? Anyone had a similar experience? I am hoping cleaning them up wouldwork, but wanted to ask here.
The pins are usually made out of a steel alloy and normally pretty hard/ dense. So you could probably remove the rust using WD40 or gasoline and everything should be fine.
yo Im down for a janky binding setup, but rusty tech bindings seems like a no go zone to me. Maybe if you are able to fully disassemble and regrease everything but idk

I agree with this mostly, disassemble, clean, grease, reassemble. At the same time it's not like tech bindings actually release consistently so it will *probably* be fine? How do you feel about your knees?

Damn, the answer I was hoping no one would say😂. I do plan on trying to deconstruct them and clean/grease as much as I can. They were free, and I am super ready to just say nope, not worth it. Appreciating the responses folks, I likely will not get to it for the next couple weeks, Mum is in town.
Yooo those look yanked!
Dismount them, disassemble them, sand of the rust and clean everything as good as possible, grease it up and put it back together!
Will probably take you 1-2 hours but hey you got free tech bindings after that and rescued an old pair from the dumpster!

Yanked hahaha not sure if that is a pro or a con. I was fired up to save them from the dumpster if I can. I was planning on a full disassemble and clean up, as much as they can come apart. I will 10̷0̷% post progress and/or after photos when I get to it, but as I said, it will be later. Gotta hang with me Mum.
I'd run them. Looks like some surface rust on the inserts and the heel pins so that shouldn't really affect the performance of the binding, especially a tech binding like yours.
so here is a slight update for now. I pulled the entire heel piece apart off of one ski, and cleaned it and the toe piece up. The toe piece seems pretty flawless. Everything looks pretty good. The heel pins are the worst as expected from looking at it initially. I soaked all the steel bits in vinegar and rubbed them, then sanded them. They seem pretty serviceable to me now. One of the screws broke when I was tightening it back in, but I got a replacement from cantyre that works for now. I also cracked a bit of plastic and have it epoxied right now, it is drying. When it is fully dry, I will put it back on the ski and test all the functions. I did test it though loosely in hand and everything seems pretty nice to me.
Update - the bad boys are finished.
I ended up getting different screws, I needed round top. The flat tops started cracking old plastic. So $13 for a pack, and that Is all I paid for them. I coated all the metal parts in WD 40̷ white lithium to prevent rust and help sliding, they feel fantastic. I can hardly wait to ski them!

Man you did a nice job. Those look like new! Here's hoping you can get out on them soon. Try to get some video/photos when you do ;)

I will! I am pretty fired up. One mans trash really is anothers treasure. The worst off is the heel pins, pictured in my second last post there, but I am very not stressed.
