Afriski went like shit this round. Also on my 4th phone, 3rd pair of sunnies, laptop is done, broke my hand and some fingers, and plenty of other festivities but still alive.

Yeah sometimes shit happens I guess. At least I stayed decently healthy on the mountain through my teens and part of my 20s. I'll take it. And yeah appreciate it!

Yeah to some extent. Ended up quiting this time around so that's an end of a chapter. Other than work it was great. Working 7 days a week was total BS. But yeah, met some cool people got people into the spring vibes of pointing through slush bumps and getting surfy.

When I quit I hung out for 5 days, got to do all the things that made the place home. Partying with guests, they were buying me shots, dinner. I helped win bingo with some guests that wanted me on their team. Played music in the restaurants and some guest accommodation.

So I got what I wanted, seeing old friends, meeting new ones, shredding some laps, having some drinks and the closure I wanted to move on from that chapter of my life.

It def wasn't all good, but I made some turns and had some fun on the slopes!

I believe this is the only pic of me on the slopes from this season. 2 good friends from the old days came up for a week, didn't know they were coming and they didn't know I'd be there. Got to have a bit of a jol on the slopes, ski burning and the bar. Buddy was on the slope taking some pics so I decided to point at him lol. Nothing too fancy but hey, it's something.

I think a lot was from pre 2013 when the forums were still bumpin. I did take a hiatus this summer and early fall though. I've been bored the last few days and been posting regularly.

Word, I'll try to hang on a bit longer

I may be wrong and @eheath would probably. be able to verify better, but I swear in the early 2010s there would be like 400 members online any given day during the season, and a healthy amount of Summer actives too. Damn social medias dividing attention

it for sure used to be like that and it was fantastic. you couldnt shitpost fast enough.

it is nuts still seeing some of the same people. i dont even ski anymore but this place still feels like home

NS forums (and most forums other than reddit) have been on a steep decline since instagram got popular ~2014

+++ same here. didn't really visit NS since 2014-2016 ish I think. it used to be tons of fun. I shared my theory on here once that the general threads (post what's on your mind etc) killed NSG almost entirely by serving as a containment thread for what coulda been great shitposting threads (this theory was severely downvoted which i think was yet another huge mistake- the reddit system)

Maybe to aome extent, but forums were on the decline from 2010 ish already. Everything now jist stays on social media. I get it but it does kinda suck knowing how much fun forums were pre social media.
