Difference Between Armada Declivity 108 TI and Armada Declivity 108 X??

I'm looking to get into the freeride comp scene this year so I'm tryna pick up a ski that won't completely break the bank as I'm in college rn.

So what's the difference? I know they are different lengths and armada says they're more targeted towards a modern freeride comp skier, but is it worth the price difference? It would be like $400 less to get a pair of last years declivity 108 TI's.

Also looking at Vishnu Tanks, but I'm not super sure how well they're gonna ski at a big mountain level since barely anyone has skied them. Additonally, I would welcome any other recommendations for a freeride comp ski.

From what I’ve seen and heard, the 108X is a pretty badass freeride ski. Longer sidecut radius and a few hundred grams heavier which is pretty important for freeride.

@.nasty could you help out here to explain the difference. I only have the old one, and the best way to describe it is that the vibration dampening so good you can get going very fast w/o realizing it until u have to slow down. The old one conforms to the terrain very nicely.

Just to clarify, you're saying the old one has the crazy vibration dampening or the x has the crazy vibration dampening?

108 ti = caruba core with atb
108 x = poplar core with atb-x

Basically switch to a heavier core required less metal.

Rossignol sender Squad can be found for cheap and has a more forward mountpoint (mounted mine at -5)

If you like a more traditional mountpoint you could also look for the Blizzard Bodacious.

The Black Crows Anima could also be an option.
