I swear it was someone on NS who got me into wanting a Tissot T Touch because altimeter etc but we don’t have a watch thread. Figured we’re due.
My Fossil seems to have mostly died so picked up a Citizen to match my wedding ring. Maybe someday will work my way up to a Datejust since a family friend suggested it to me lol maybe it can be a part of my 5 year plan.

Depends on what is affordable to you. For under 500€ I would look at Seiko, Citizen, Timex or Tissot(I would stay away from the PRX tho)

I’ve always been wowed by engineering stuff so cars and watches live in my head. I’ve skied with a bunch of them but mostly run a g shock so i don’t feel scared breaking it or worrying abt a replacement
I finally found a Seamaster with potential. Did some auctioning, I won and then the MFer declined the sale?? I didn't even know that was possible after the price passed the minimum sale price. I understand tho, It was quite cheap for what it was.
I hate the used watch market here, it's mostly just rolex, shit and hublots. Or people selling their watch in "very good" condition and then the watch shows signs of water leakage or other problems.

used to want a g shock now im walking with a bust down
i recently got my first watch, a garmin fenix 6X Sapphire. got it used from a friend, and really only got it to get data from ski tours / sleep / other body stuff. It does feel nice to have a time piece. Feels somewhat grown up and i dont have to bust out my phone when i need to know the time.

Colorway was not exactly the one I was looking for but this is not bad either.
Next on my list is speedy or 36 mm Oyster Perpetual, Tried one for a day and I liked it more than I thought I would. Those might not happen in a few years tho.
SofaKingSickso how do you get into watches? if you have a rich dad and no hobbies or interests by the time you become an adult, does someone just automatically approach you and gets you started?

There's also peer pressure in a lot of offices to get a watch. Watch people have been pretty pushy about me needing a watch when i mention that i don't have one
This is the exact life path of my cousin who’s a huge watch collector. Dad and uncle started his collection and now he has to match his clients’ watches in luxury real estate. Funny enough his dad wore the same Timex for thirty years.
That’s so crazy coming from a watch brand that’s known for being encrusted with diamonds. I’d like a fluted jubilee DJ but guess I better get some rocks in there too so the fluted doesn’t look too out of place or whatever their deal is. People just always gotta hate
El_Barto.Its nice. Some people in the Rolex world think the fluted with jubilee is too flashy. They are totally insane though.
