I have trouble getting pops off my butters I want to be able to throw a big b3 or b5 but I can’t keep my axis straight and I usually have to drag my hand. Sometimes i can butter without dragging my hand but then I can’t load up my skis as much. Any thoughts or tips
you dont need to go for x games gold right away lol. slow it down and focus on things like how long you can press, how high you can snap a 180 off of a butter, etc. once you get the control and feel down you can ramp up the spins
that’s true I agree but i figured it’s the next progression. I can 3 and 5 so i didn’t think that a butter 5 would be too much to chew but yeah you’re probably right

You have to actually engage your legs and feet when you butter, you can’t just lean over. Best way I can describe it is that its almost a similar way to picking up an object off the floor with your toes (kinda but not really), you gotta push down into the ground with your toes and simultaneously lift your heels. This will massively reduce heel lift and give you more power. That way when you lean, your skis will actually come up, not just your body leaning over. I do a subtle pop to help get into it but that isn’t completely necessary, although I find it helps a lot.
One of, if not the biggest mistake you are making is that you don’t start pressing until almost 180 degress. I take pride in doin legit butters so I actually press and lean when im completely forwards still, but you need to be doing the press at a minimum of 90 degress. This is where doing a slight pop can help because you can almost think of it as jumping into it at 90 degrees at first. Using your leg muscles and feet will help not handdrag but it will take practice. Doing legit nosebutters are not easy. Last piece of advice is learning how to nose press going straight down hill. Its super scary at first but if you can do it legit for a couple seconds it will help massively. It forces you to do it with engaged legs and teaches you the balance point. Rather than guessing every time
Here is example of you not being pressed at min 90 degrees

Scoop your heels toward your ass by bending your knees. I only see you throwing your body weight onto the noses. When it's done right, the trick looks easy but requires a lot of effort and practice.
blandz was on the money. only thing id add is that if you try buttering on a roller and start flexing your skis too late, then you'll still be pushing as you lose contact with the roller. That's why you go off balance in the clip.

Good luck!!
this. slow down and practice doing nb180s, popping onto and pivoting your tips before coming down. get that down and practice the same from the tails. think of both butter like youre turning a skateboard/ snowboard with WAY more resistance. toes down, heels up, (opposite for tail butters obviously) use your core and upper body momentum to set and find the pivot point. then its all about balance and practice.
main thing is start slow. not going to learn anything tokyo drifting to hand drags off the knuckle doing mach jesus.
