KilaTsunamiJust met with a sales rep for Aetrex 3D scanner tech for boot selection and insoles… anyone know about these? Worth it? Overrated? I feel like I do just fine as a bootfitter with my brain and my tape measure but I’m always open to upping my game.
dukes717it's ok, I'd say somewhat overrated. I found the last measurement to be dead-on but the instep measurement to be pretty inaccurate. The mondo was also incredibly accurate, but I think it might've been past the point of helping.
I didn't spend a lot of time with it, I just stopped by a shop I'd gone to forever, but this was while I was working as a bootfitter so I had a pretty good idea of what my feet were measuring at.
muffMan.don’t know if it was the same brand but the shop I got my boots had a 3D scanner and was pretty legit.
they had a small boot selection, but were able to order/tell me what to get based on my foot. Best fit I’ve ever had but also coulda gotten lucky
KilaTsunamiWell that’s cool! I think we’re gonna pass. We’re not the 3D technology type shop. Very home grown type vibe. Also our customers probably wouldn’t care for it lol
muffMan.Next boots I’m definitely going for that vibe you have.
Like I said I think it was more luck, the boots came with an intuition liner as well, which may have been more forgiving to fit.
can’t even imagine the price on one of those
