Why are so many people starting podcasts? All I see of recent podcasts are men bringing on OF girls to talk about geography. Is there a skiing podcast?

After thinking about this a little bit more, my main gripe with Podcasts is the oversaturation of the space, not the actual content itself. A lot of the content from experts is really interesting, but personally, I am put off by the fact that everyone who makes content HAS to have a podcast as another revenue stream. This comes from my 'anti-influencer' mindset. At least I know the book I read on my lunch break isn't going to shill me Express VPN or Ridge Wallet for the 10000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000th time.
