Race Skis Problem

My friend bought a pair of women’s FIS slalom skis to do the instructor’s exams here in Argentina.
She got a pair of Atomics with race plates and bindings, the problem is that this bindings she has on rn are way too stiff for her (DIN 14+ only) so she got a pair of junior Colt 12’s to replace them.

Does anyone know if this are compatible? Race plates with the bindings? Putting some pics to illustrate!









Any help from racers or techs really appreciated also! If you had the same issue and figured a way to make it work would love to hear from you!

Short answer: no

She bought a World Cup-level ski and it comes with a World Cup-level binding & plate.

If you need a different binding, you need to take the plate off too.

Basically, she bought the wrong ski for her needs.

Also a Colt 12 binding will ski like crap. There is more to bindings than simply having the correct DIN setting.

Adult boots don't fit correctly in junior bindings. They will release unpredictably. There's no point using race skis if you don't use them with a performance binding. For doing an instructors exam, it's important to have a ski you're comfortable on. Doesn't really matter what as long as the edges are good. A somewhat forgiving carving ski with a lot of sidecut would be best for most people. Something like a Head Super Joy would be good for someone small and light.

it's a scale that goes slalom, GS (giant slalom), super G, downhill, with slalom being the tightest turns and downhill being the least tight turns and hauling ass down the fall line

so for slalom think of the small radius turn races, bashing gates, michaela shiffrin
