Look pivots are damaging my boots

My boot heels have wear/dents from where my look pivot makes contact. Is this normal or improper mounting from the ski shop? 80+ days on these boots. I’ve had Salomon boots before with more days and they only had wear on the grip walk sole from walking around but I’ve never seen it on the heel lug like this before. Maybe Salomon has higher quality plastic? Can anyone with pivots look and let me know if they have this type of wear on their heel? Thanks.

not concerned about selling them, just concerned about longevity if i need to buy another boot

How far out are your “limit” screws on your pivot arms? I had mine pushed all the way out and the angle of the arms coming in caused the same issue for me

the shop set the pivot arms to the middle of the adjustment which i think is good since it allows +/- a few milimeters if i ever change boots

Certain boots can be more prone to this it seems. I remember I would always see brand new Lupos with clapped toe lugs after like a month of riding

I’ll check the back of my Ft drop kicks but I’m pretty sure my pivot didn't chew up the back of my boots like that

Back them out some. Your forward pressure is too high. Same thing was happening to my rossignols when the shop set the pressure too high. Back down tested again and now it’s fine. If your forward pressure is set too high it doesn’t matter what brand boot you’re in they’re going to get dented by pivots at that point.

Mine have no sign of any damage like you have on yours, it’s honestly the first time i check. I checked on the back of the boot and clicking into the bindings

this happens because the plastic k2, and full tilt used in the past are really soft because of he rigidity the shape of the boot gives it. This makes it so that the metal bindings are much harder, and will scrape/dent the heel. This would happen with lange superleggeras too, except the langes come with a metal cap that goes on the toe/heel catch to make it not. It might not be a din/forward pressure setting, but just laziness from k2.
