Dying breed of boxes

I was watching some og 2000s edits and I’ve really noticed how many boxes there were, at almost over resort there was a crazy challenge box but nowadays the only challenge box I know is from henriks park. I always thought this was just skier getting better and not needing box’s anymore but are there more reasons?

Never really enjoyed boxes, even on a snowboard. Flat bars seem the best middle ground. The number of injuries I've seen from boxes is way more than any other feature in a park.
