Surface Upper reviews and experiences / similar skis

From my understanding They’re pretty soft and are more of a wide park ski. Uppers Better than Jeff’s in the park but Jeff’s are better for freeride stuff. They won’t be as durable as Jeff’s.

andrewsmartHey guys, I have had a pair of ON3P Jeffrey 108's for the last five seasons and they are nearing the end of their life span. I tore out an edge the other day, and will do my best to repair them, but it will only delay the inevitable, so a replacement is likely needed soon.

I was looking at the Surface Uppers, and they seem fun but I can't find any detailed reviews on them. Does anyone here know how they would compare to the ON3P Jeffrey 108's, both in the park and out? I would also be curious about how stiff they ride and how durable they are etc.

I spend most of my time out of the park but am looking for a one ski quiver ski, so any other suggestions are welcome!

It's a good point but five years on the same ski is a long time and I like switching it up. Still just considering options.

I have a pair of surface reuss which are the previous model to the uppers same dimensions and they work great all around. Probably close to a 100 days on them and the edges are cracked but not missing. Stiff poppy ski super fun would suggest. I also have a pair of m free 108s and they are more comparable to the Jeffery I'd say in the sense that they surf well and are pretty fun the few days I went in the park. They are my touring setup and are more fun in the slack country, big mountain/ all mountain. Both have done well at lake louise, sunshine and revelstoke through this season.
Note I do ride season kin in the park soflex rating is being compared to a noodle

I ride surface uppers and I’ve gotta say they are the most playful do everything skis I’ve ever rode. Perfect width for park to powder. Perfect flex like not too soft but super springy and absolutely perfect for Ollie’s/nollies and buttering with their huge paddles. I cannot express how much I love skiing on these skis. However I do have one issue with them, and that’s the durability of their bases. Top sheet handles chips like a champ but any tiny rock will rip out a huge chunk of the base material. I also destroyed the edge of one trying to pow slash what I thought was a nice pow pocket but it was a huge rock. That being said I bought a second pair because I love how they ski so much. They also could charge a little better but no one asked them to be directional charging skis.

For sure not as durable base wise

Rode the uppers this past season for park...they definitely aren't vishnu soft. They have an aggressive amount of early rise and some camber so still super poppy. Light enough to swing around in the park no problem. If durability is an issue maybe look at on3p. I'm starting to have a little bit of delam where the edges meet on the tips/tail, some edge cracks etc. Normal stuff imo. Also disclaimer they measure and ride short my 176's are like 173.5

durability is mid asf, I have inch of edge missing and another part is crack, and the base is fucked up in a couple spots, this is after one season, i skied like 30 days. They are great for everything tho, in the park there super fun on rails and jumps and in deep slush, in powder there super fun to charge and slash

I bought uppers 2 season ago as a ski to do all.

Best skis I have ever had, perfect tool to do ALL expect icy shit (who cares?).

I am a pretty lightweight guy (130lbs) 5'8" and bought 176cm.

Shape is very funny for presses and butters.
They are very funny at low speed.
They are stable enough in the jumps.
They forgive a lot if you land weird.
Super funny in pow, not need more width unless you have more than 50cm of fresh snow or weight a lot.
I also trusted them a lot dropping big cliffs pretty fast, charging and straightlining to chop.

In the slush they are super funny!!!!!

They are not noodles but for only charging a stiffer ski would be better.
