Jobs for Ski Instructing in Africa

They're back open.

I have no idea the setup these days, haven't been in years. Hit a snag with my Visa for Thredbo in Australia and considering going back to Africa.

Jobs are up on the website.


I haven't been in 8 years and a lot has changed. It's a super cool spot though and pretty magical seeing people see snow for the first time ever sometimes.

I'd be going to groom the slopes and build parks.

People have asked me about Afriski over the years and working there. I just started talking to them recently and I just saw a post about ski instructor jobs.

Place used to be and is prolly still pretty fun. If you have time could be worth it. Gotta leave some time to travel though!!

A couple NSers came down to work when I was there and one that was on vacation swung through and shredded on rental skis.

A lot has prolly changed but it was a cool spot.

Nothing like shredding hot laps in the park on a sunny African day. Also hitting some of the backcountry spots after the storm was sort of life changing.

Just figured I'd let people know it exists. I had an amazing time the years I was down there. About 5 hour drive from Johannesburg I think.

Worth checkint out if you get a chance even jist on a vacation to South Africa

Prolly one of the best photos of me from my life. Nothing like dropping in with complete darkness and getting smoked by a flash. Like could see the feature, just guessed where it was rolling up in blackness then BOOM flash blinds you. Worth it but def a bit sketchy

I had no idea that there was a ski resort in Africa. That is so cool .
Talking about people who never seen snow before from the article you linked. It snowed a couple inches when I was in Iraq. January 2008. The first time in the middle of the country in like 80 some years. It was such a big deal it made the news back at home and my parents saw it.
Another time, when I was stationed in Ft. Campbell Ky it snowed maybe 3 or 4 inches. People that were from Texas and other southern states that don't see snow were in disbelief. They were touching it, playing in it, throwing snowballs. They shut down base and people just didn't know how to drive in it. Us northerners were thinking " This is nothing! "

Its magical to see for real! You def get almost jaded when you see it all the time. It's kind of a window back into childhood. Seeing people literally cry watching snow fall, kids and adults playing in the snow. Idk its magic.

In route back to ye old Africa. Got the geetars and some snowboards.

Stoked to get back down there. A lot of friends that worked there have moved on but still hyped. Will have some time to visit the people after the season.

Hoping we have cold temps and get some natty snow. Not sure what I'll have for a park crew but hoping I can get a few things set up for the people.

Running old ass machines. And I fucking hate wheel cats but whatever. Place is pretty sick.
