I have a pair of 2018 ON3P Kartels that have been mounted a few times. I want to see if I can mount them myself and use them for urban/spring skiing. Worst case scenario I can’t use them and I make them wall art. I know the golden rule is at least 1cm away from old binding holes to the new ones. Is it realistic my bindings would rip out if they were closer? I’m 6’1 145 lbs and would be mounting w/ pivots.
Honestly you'll probably be fine. I've done some super dodgy mount jobs on my own gear. Actually tested glue vs no glue on a pair; Had no issues.
I've even heli-coiled through a heli-coil on some Elans. You'd be suprised how little screws you need to keep a binding on, so it all depends how chill you are. None of the skis pictured had any major binding pull outs
