SenseiMillaI wanna get the pivot 15s but I’m finding that 18s are quite a bit cheaper right now. I’m 6 foot, about 130ish pounds so I’m pretty light and definitely do not need 18s but I was wondering if I should just get them because they’re cheaper or not because I’m very light or if it even makes a difference. Thanks

VzxYour din is around 6-7 the 18s would be way to high for you I would suggest getting the pivot 12s because they are more in your din range and if you gain weight you will still be able to use the pivot 12s comfortably.
Non_State_ActorUse a DIN calculator like this:
https://www.mechanicsofsport.com/skiing/equipment/bindings/din-calculator.html
And if you fall into the DIN range of a particular binding, in this case 8-18, then that binding is good for you. Some things that can cause your DIN setting to be lowered include, losing weight, getting bigger boots.
SenseiMillaWill do thank you sir
PartyBullshiit14/15’s would be ideal. 18 bottoms out at 8 so you’d likely be bottomed out din wise and still be higher than you need.

Sully_Lynncorrect me if im wrong here, but the 18 goes down to 8 which is where you should be in terms or din if you dont want to double eject everytime you hit a mogul

PartyBullshiitSo what does the calculator say you are?
SenseiMilla8.5 but I tried other websites that say I’m like a 7
PartyBullshiitWhat’s all your stats?
SenseiMilla6 foot, 130 pounds, 27.5 boot, 19 years old, and ride park 99% of the time.
PartyBullshiitWhat’s the bsl? Not boot size. And you’re for sure a type 3+?
SenseiMillaI mean I’m not super aggressive compared to most people in park but I still like to hit bigger features. I’m not doing anything crazy on jumps but I’m not going easy or anything. I pop out of the bindings I have now pretty easy I think they’re on 5 or something bc I never took the time to adjust the din lol. I like to do some butters pretty often.
VzxHe’s not at 8 din yet so 15s would prob be the best bet for him.
PartyBullshiitWell the reason I ask is the chart moves you fromba 6.5 at a type 3 which sounds like what your describing to an 8 if you’re a type 3+.
if you’re popping out at 5 bump them up to 6.5 like the chart calls for and try that. See if you still eject. I would not just jump up to 8.
scratchskier321if you dont need the 15/18 din range, just buy 14's the toe piece is a lot lighter, ski turns in easier because of it.
SkiEnthusiast420having a 100g lighter toepiece isnt gonna make a difference in the ski's turning.....wtf are you on

scratchskier321install binding freedom inserts, ski the 14 toe on one ski, and the 15/18 toe on the other ski. You will see.

Yukon_CorneliusYeah, I honestly feel like the best metric for if someone is a “type 3+” is if they already know exactly what din they want to run. If they don’t know, they’re def 2 or max 3. Even if their pride doesn’t make it out unscathed, their ligaments might.

PartyBullshiitExactly my point. Which was why I made it a point to show how much it jumps for a type 3+ lol. Go from having knees to not really quick if you don’t know what you’re doing.
BallClapperWhole lotta morons in this thread.
scratchskier321if your talking about me suck my nuts
BallClapperWhat nuts?
