profa_212Ive always had luck with black diamonds lineup. They tend to be good for the price. I have the spot 400 and the storm 500(and a couple of iterations of their 400/500 lumen versions) and it has always been plenty for my backpacking/hiking/climbing needs. I constantly lose them then find them years later and they always work, with maybe a switch of batteries. For 50 bucks they're a great deal.
Ive personally found that 400-500 is my preferred brightness. Its plenty bright imo
I've had buddies that swear by Petzls as well and they've been great when I borrow them. But I cant speak outside of that really.
what's the use? if they are just for camping and stuff, I would recommend one along those lines, without a battery pack strap or anything. If youre going hardcore you might want something with a pack and better battery life. But ill stick with just leaving a couple extra batteries in my bags for what i do
PartyBullshiitImmediate use is for toad spotting. My dogs an asshole. So I walk him in the late evening/night and down here in south Florida we have a fuck load of them.
I have a bunch of really good handheld lights but just sick of having to use that in one hand while walking with the leash in the other hand. Usually trying to carry a brew for the walk too.
So run out of grabbers fast. And forget when I have to pick up the shit. All hell breaks loose. but I legit had to navigate like 15-20 Toads last night within like 10 feet. Some can be toxic and invasive and some are not toxic and are native.
so wanted to have a good headlamp instead of using the handheld. I started building up my touring setup for next season so figured I’d use this lamp for touring as well.
PartyBullshiitMy dogs an asshole.
BallClapperGo figure.
PartyBullshiitOooofff. So edgy. I bet all the cool kids want to sit with you at lunch.
BallClapperI don't have friends. Too edgy.
