177 too big?

The Vishnu wides caught my attention and I noticed they make 177 smallest size available. Will they be too big?

im ski on some 163 arvs and need to change skis. I’m 5’5 pretty good skier and weight 140 about

You should be fine, due to the rocker of the ski it is actually a little bit shorter then what’s said. If you are still growing that’s even better.

You’ll be okay if you’re a good skier and do mostly bug mountain terrain. You should be okay in the park too but it’ll take a day to get used to different skis

yea 177 is too big for you. You’re also a bit light for your height. If you’re using them for park I’d go just a bit shorter than your height, so around forehead or eyebrow height. I’d only do skis longer than your height if it’s for all mountain

Go look at photos of any freestyle competition podium and you’ll see majority of the pros don’t have skis taller than their height.

This applies to park only. If you’re all mountain and doing powder then yes obviously you want longer skis for more stability and float.

Not sure how style came up in this conversation? What does length of your ski have to do with style? I was just reinforcing my point that a shorter ski equals better spin weight and maneuvering for park, and longer is better for all mountain.

I doubt he’s using Chet’s for park, they’ll be fine if he does all mountain and he’s also probably a kid so he’ll grow too
