You can get rodeo 5s flatter that flat 3s too. It’s never made sense to me
this was the only bad part of slvsh for me this year (other than the safety slide thing), i’m not saying i can do it any better but like these guys are pro, i wanna see some cooler butters!
to answer your question, the reason butters are more like Tokyo drifts now is because park skis have gotten stiffer now, and doing a proper butter is dependent on the type of ski you have. Most of the pros and SLVSH guys you see are using stiff competition park skis that make it almost impossible to butter onto rails without having a ton of speed, which they can’t get in that park setup because there’s not enough room to get speed

this seems wrong lol pros can def butter stiff skis. ive learned butter to be more technique dependent than ski dependent as long as youre on a general "park ski"

I mean yeah, he is one of the few people who actually can actually butter onto rails. He doesn't always do it tho, I'm just saying like in SLVSH and some comp runs he also has definitely reverted and not buttered onto features or off jumps. Not as heinous as other dudes at all cuz he still at leans into them even when his skis don't flex
personally I would say the Tokyo style butter slides as long as the rider is obviously putting weight on the noses. doing a butter up a lip requires a lot of precision, as well as the fact that the butter has to be done faster. that being said, the more truly buttered it is the better and always makes for a better clip
