It seems the ski industry is missing this type of ski. A true twin tip that thrashes all mountain and specifically carves great. i’ve made a mock up of a fischer ranger 96 could look like. the top ski shows it unchanged and the bottom shows the modification. (notice the tails)
the ski was only altered behind the contact patch. that means it would ski exactly the same while now being almost center mounted with a twin tip. this gives it better float and more back bone on landings, it also evens the weight distribution out making this thing perfect for big spins. by adding 6 cm of tail to the back this is now not only one of the best all mountain skis out there but also a freestyle weapon. this type of ski is a dream ski for me. if you think this type of ski already exists please lmk. otherwise i see no draw backs in adding more tail to skis with a partial twin tip as it wouldn’t change hard pack performance and it makes the ski more versatile. thanks
