Rock_InhabitantI skied on blades for the first time a few days ago and had a ton of fun. I wanna get some for myself but don’t really know what to get. Should I buy some at full price and throw some non-releasing bindings on there or do I get a deal on craigslist or something? What kinda blades should I look for
PartyBullshiitChipotle blades and pivots ftw.
Rock_InhabitantBro that’s like 700$
PartyBullshiitMoment is supposed to be doing another blade drop before the end of season was my understanding. I know they had more in production recently.
Rock_InhabitantShould I try to get some? Are moment blades actually worth the price
Non_State_ActorI just looked at eBay and there are tons of pairs from Salomon, K2, Elan, Head for like $100 with bear traps... I would totally do non-release binding on 100cm blades, much lighter and easier.
treebeardJ Skis for $350, high-quality construction just like Moment

PartyBullshiitEh moments are usually $269
PartyBullshiitAlright well your link just changed. Now it shows $299 and sold out. A min ago they were $350 and in stock.
treebeardJust showing the people that options other than Moment exist (you'd disagree)
PartyBullshiitNo no I completely understand other options exist. And with the blade like the j’s it’s basically the same to a degree. Which was my point. Why pay $350 when the moments are $269 for the same thing. not claiming the moments are better

PartyBullshiitI really enjoy my knees and ligaments, so non releasable wasn’t on my radar. As it was moment cranked the dins down from what I normally would ski to lower on the blades. Evidently that’s common practice when they mount blades.
Non_State_ActorRelease on blades is a non-issue, they're so short. You could twist your knee with a hiking boot on as well.
The physics are such that you would have to lower the DIN a ton to get any chance of release with such a short lever attached.

Not sure how legit that is.
I was thinking of Rvl8 ski boards since I know someone who has a pair, and that's what came up when I searched how to buy them.
PartyBullshiitNo sir. Paid $489 total. Blades from moment. Bindings from bobs leisure.
BallClapperWish a full sized ski setup cost that much.

SofaKingSicki mean, it totally can? wait for some decent park skis to get 300 or below (happens all the time in offseason) and get some Attacks for 150ish
PartyBullshiitBlades are dropping soon. Officially on the site
Rock_InhabitantI’m prolly gonna try to get some used ones but that’s sick that they’re dropping
Farmville420If this is in the budget you could also get these
Rock_InhabitantHaha I did not know these existed
