I skied on blades for the first time a few days ago and had a ton of fun. I wanna get some for myself but don’t really know what to get. Should I buy some at full price and throw some non-releasing bindings on there or do I get a deal on craigslist or something? What kinda blades should I look for

I'd get a pair of legit ones, whether new or used, instead of the crappy plastic ones. Both Moment and J Skis make them currently. I used to have some of the OG Kneissl Bigfeet from the early 90s but sold them to someone on here a few years back when the classified sections still worked.
Not sure how legit that is.
I was thinking of Rvl8 ski boards since I know someone who has a pair, and that's what came up when I searched how to buy them.

Absolutely. They are legit skis. Full bamboo cores, 7500 sintered bases, real edges, real top sheet, no plastic. Quality wise they are top notch and will last for years.
I just looked at eBay and there are tons of pairs from Salomon, K2, Elan, Head for like $100 with bear traps... I would totally do non-release binding on 100cm blades, much lighter and easier.

I really enjoy my knees and ligaments, so non releasable wasn’t on my radar. As it was moment cranked the dins down from what I normally would ski to lower on the blades. Evidently that’s common practice when they mount blades.

No no I completely understand other options exist. And with the blade like the j’s it’s basically the same to a degree. Which was my point. Why pay $350 when the moments are $269 for the same thing. not claiming the moments are better

Release on blades is a non-issue, they're so short. You could twist your knee with a hiking boot on as well.
The physics are such that you would have to lower the DIN a ton to get any chance of release with such a short lever attached.

It may not be a huge issue but release absolutely is an issue. If all you’re doing is just riding perfect groomers you’re correct. Nothing to worry about. I took my blades everywhere I could. If I went down fucking around in trees I’d much rather know there’s a chance my blade is being released if one hits a low branch or rock and gets snagged as I’m sliding down. There’s just no good reason not to have releasable.

I got some rvl8 revolt 95’s like 5 years ago with risers and tyrolia attacks. They are very fun occasionally; they are great for skiing with kids and reducing boredom at low speeds. Super tight radius, fun in powder too!

SofaKingSicki mean, it totally can? wait for some decent park skis to get 300 or below (happens all the time in offseason) and get some Attacks for 150ish
In my eyes attacks are dog water. Be mad. Rather go for a strive 14 at that price. Yes they drop that low.

Ya evidently my phone blocked their sms text because they went onsale this morning and sold out in mins. So I was behind the ball on this post. Already sold out for the season at this point.
I have to think something like the RVL8s from a dedicated ski board company is probably more legit than even the Moments or ON3Ps. Not that something like the J isn't probably a legit ski from an actual skiboarder but the RVL8s seems like they have way more progressive shapes and also more bomber binding options just at a glance.
