I know nothing about boots but I know this is probably something that should be fixed…

Probably.
Looks like the screw/canting adjustment came loose and fell out. What boot? A dealer or good shop that stocks the brand should have a spare in a drawer somewhere.

Turns out if you take broke ski gear to a ski shop they can fix it. Who would’ve thought
