supremeblienteleMountain hardware shells r mad cheap and usually goretex. U can get them on sale all the time too. I got a 900$ shell for 300$ and it’s lasted me so many years with no tears or leakage, super light weight and just as waterproof as the day I bought it. Also has hella cool internal pockets and straps for beacons, phones etc…
not “core” but honestly who gives af. It looks sick and has outperformed any other shells I’ve owned. Arcteryx can kick rocks

SlowbroTrew or 686 would be the most core pick. Dakine and Quiksilver aren’t exactly core but both make accessible Gore-Tex gear and have had good ski teams forever.
BallClapperMountian hardware is flaming asscheeks. I had one of their jackets a while ago and I remember it getting soaked and just icky nasty. It was a low end one and not a shell.
