Yo everyone
I know there are plenty of threads about new skis (with replies sayin BUYS VISHNU) but I would try everything to get some 2 cents from experienced people.
Surface Uppers 176cm are my only pair of skis and I use them for the
- few days of powder (max 40cm) I get in my resort (I like to drop and go big):
I love them even if maybe their soft flex is not good for charging
- 1/3 days when snowpark is good (I like jumps and not very much rails... I do them but do not trick a lot)
I like them they are smooth and lightweight but I would like to try something more narrow, easy to swing and poppy.
- 2/3 riding the mountain and maybe throwing EASY tricks off natural features and side hits.
I love them and how they are surfy, enough stable for my weight even when straight lining and charging, but find them not too much energic and poppy.
Additional info:
- I am 130Lbs x 171cm (5'7")
- I do not do park jumps over 50 feet but would like to try some maybe
SO, I would like to try something new to use mainly in the park, maybe in the slush, generally when there's no chop or some SOFT snow to give it. I like to do butters and swerve around a lot.
I would like too keep the Upper for powder / chop and then maybe replace it with a more chargy ski.
I tried the following skis:
- Surface giv'er: I like them but I would like to try another brand and I do not enjoy a lot the fact that the noses feel stiffer than the tails.
- Reckoner 102: These were more okay for what I want but didn't enjoy the way the tips became soft . Maybe 170 was too short for me and I was nearly washing out when pressing.
My main options are:
- 1000 skis park: seems hells of fun and seems they can handle also doubles and big jumps from low weight athletes. Also wouldn't mind come back to a ski with some camber.
- ON3P Mangos: no chance to try them and few to get them .... also, 90 or 100?
Any advice?
Sorry for the long post.....At least I gave you my opinion about The Uppers :)
Thanks in advance!
