SchwagsWhat kind of features would you guys like to see? I am solo dev(for now) so let's keep it somewhat manageable. Looking forward to any ideas the community may have. This is my dream game I always wanted to play as a kid and now as an adult. I am almost ready for steam page in a couple months (not a release, just announcing development to masses) and I will reveal the progress then with videos and more info. For now I would just like to see what you guys want and I'll see if I can make it happen.
BiggieSmallsNZOne thing shredders does quite well is all the movements generally look fairly fluid. Obviously shredsauce isn't the same level, but that's quite stilted which I'm not a huge fan of

caveman31Good animations without insane input lag. 90% of animation based games fail at this. Shredders is the only game I can think of that does it pretty much perfectly being that there's a mix of physics based and animation based mechanics.

beepskiHave a good mix of realistic and insane areas to ski like it’d be sick to go from street skiing to a super ultra mega park type thing. Also different difficulties would be sick like realistic and arcade.
SchwagsAgreed. Animations are very very hard and quite the process. The guy who designed shredders system was working on it for nearly a decade o0. Also quite a bit of luck involved that you don't see. Like sometimes you do something by accident and you solved a problem you haven't gotten to yet go with that idea and 2 months later you have choose to get rid of it or redo something that took a long time.

caveman31Yea it seems like animations can be pretty tricky. The shredders devs also had a game called "the snowboard game" a few years before shredders.

on a real note, i agree that open source is the way to actually get this done. i’m down to work on this but I can’t commit to anything serious, Im sure others feel the same. idk how that works financially though.

porkch0pAlso from skate 3: different character ski styles. I believe they had loose, standard, OG, and aggressive to choose from.
bch.skisStory mode like 2k or madden - choose to do free ride or slope or smth then have the progression in the game be based on real life
Voyage86customs ski widths and real life mountains or maybe just famous faces like the free ride world tour spots and other iconic spots from real life resorts. you can parody the resort to if there’s an issue with use or somthing. you got Snail resort, B basin, jackson half, kicking cow, Snow Turd, Mt Collar etc

SchwagsShredders is awesome one of my favorites. I am working on similar control system and testing out some other ideas
