Also theres alot of good skiers and theyll put you w/ people who are your age and ability so you can progress as a group. All the coaches are big name skiers but its gonna all depend on how hard you wanna progress. They got airbags tramps the whole nine so its up to you in the end. I went when i was 14 and it changed my life cause it showed me what it takes to be good. that and the first time i went to alta will teach you alot.

I do love skate and I’m also 15 but I would probably just be doing the day lessons because the overnight is wayy more expensive do you still get access to skating, tramps, airbags, ect

I really wanna go this year and think the benefits would outweigh the costs but I would also have to pay a majority. I live in Oregon so I don't have to worry about travel costs. What kind of training did you get there? And also how was the camp good enough to balance out the 2800$ price tag?

i went in 2014 so stuff may be a bit different now but they ask you what your goals are and then they try to reach those goals by the end of the week. So your coach will tailor you a training plan and work with you to hit your goal. For example if your goal is to backflip theyll take you through all the steps and you can even try it on the airbag first. Also the whole time youre there you have access to the barn that has trampolines and foam pits. All the kids in there are sending and you can really progress just seeing people your age send it to. Everybody is down to help you so its kind of like group training. Other than that your coach films you and your group the whole day and then you come back and review the clips with everybody. All the coaches were pro skiers or ex proskiers when i went so youre pretty much getting the best coaching possible. At the end of the day skiing is an action sport that takes balls so you cant just expect to be going to the olympics after attending windells. But i think the people you meet and the encouragement you get lets you be able to take your skiing to the next level by just being surrounded by that much talent. If youre ready to push your skiing to the limits then windells will be good for you.

So is the price tag justified; I think if you skateboard too and youre going to have friends that are going then yea its justified. Its super hype the entire time and being with the homies would be lit. If youre more introverted and going by yourself, it might not be worth the price. But if youre a cool person who always makes friends then youll be chillin lol. Me, i went by myself and im not from a ski/surf town and i felt intimidated by the shear talent and skate culture i was in. It feels like when you go to the skatepark for the first time and you feel out of place. I wasnt that good of a park rider or a skater so i was shy af cause everyone was super gnarly and dope. But if youre already that kind of person then youll be right at home.

If you live in Oregon it's probably not worth. Just go camp in the woods for a couple weeks and buy FTC day tickets. Hood in the summer is so so sick. It feels like the center of the ski universe, so many great people and so much skill around you all day.

And yes imo the coaching is a little wack these days, some awesome coaches, some not so much and the camp just seems kinda disorganized. No bad people, just not top tier coaches like I heard it used to be. Don't get me wrong tho, the campus is sick asf with the skate parks and tramps, and there are so many rippers there you are guaranteed to progress.

If you don't do the camp I'd probably go spring pass over summer. Its way cheaper. The last 2 years Timberline didn't even do an add on for the FTC parks. It was like 1,000 for summer pass or 1200 for Summer with FTC. Spring pass is like $200

FTC is the camp zones and tow ropes. With day tickets theres an add on. Like 100 for a ticket 120 with FTC. But unless it's changing for this year there's no upgrade for the pass and FTC is friggin expensive. The public park on mile is fun 18'pipe, 2 or 3 jumps, then a bunch of rails and maybe some snow features depending on what part of summer.

Spring pass they have several parks stacked and everyone is out killing it.

Windells is sick. As mentioned big bonus of you skate. The outdoor skatepark is wild. Endless. Also i door skatepark in bob.

Never went to the camps as a kid but always wanted to. A bunch of my friends have fond memories of the time when they did a week as kids.

I've been there to skate a few times when I worked at Tline though. Place is really sick. They have the skateparks, tramps, some dryslope features.

I don't really know of anyone regretting going it's just expensive.

my friends went there a couple years back and the coaches kind of just went and skied and didn't do much coaching

I went 2 summers ago. Its higher quality coaching, and more serious about training and progression there than at the Mt Hood camps

Yes it was and that was the best part about Windells/being at Hood is running into and meeting people!
This past summer I went and met Topher, and Maks (Macaronispace) I did see Mazzi there but didn't actually meet him until he came here. on the Tell a friend tour
I'm skipping camps this summer and doing local trips. Well I hope too. Things are melting quick.
