My whole point was that there is no "morally superior" currency to be paid in, every single global currency is backed by war and exploitation, the US economy especially is reliant on funding proxy wars with other global superpowers. Both countries are actively funding wars right now, this second, not accepting "blood money" includes US Dollars.

Apparently some of freeskiing's biggest names do not have any problem competing in a country that have far more restrictive rules than the sport they say they set appart from.
Moreover, we used to see Henrik not compete in an X-Games course because he was not happy with the judging or the course of I remember correctly, but apparently that does not hold him from riding a big air in a country that :
- doesn't respect human rights
- literally shits on women
- doesn't even have snow
All of this is so lame.
So many of this skiers are barking "we are G's" "fuck FIS" and so on while actually doing whatever for big money.
what's the next step ? Riding Israel or North Korea maybe ?

HypeBeastY'all sent me down a rabbit hole ending at honor killings and crucifixion. The world is a fucked up place and it's easy to forget just how good we have it. Religion is also yet again the source of horrific human rights violations, not just Saudi Arabia but everywhere.
eheathThis reminds me of the LIV golf tour that is backed by the Saudis. People got bashed at first but now most players are being heralded as brave and smart for taking the big bag of cash to ensure generational wealth. Nobody is saying no to a huge amount of money, regardless of where its coming from.
And on the note of people being very upset about taking money from the Saudis, do a quick google search and you will see that many large companies have Saudi funding that are supported by millions of people with no remorse, like Amazon, walmart, Activision/EA, Uber, Starbucks, Carnival Cruises, Costo, the list goes on.
I am fine with these skiers taking the bag, at this point we all know they're trying to sportwash but the athletes can take the money and still not support what the Saudis are doing, just like everyone else is doing.

Christian_BaleThis is such a dumb comparison. For example, Russia's constitution guarantees equal rights for women while Saudi Arabia only recently allowed women to drive. Russia hadn't invaded Crimea at the time of the olympics. I'm not going to bat for Russia here but come on.
