Fatypus Deal

Just dropping this in here for anybody who may need a new set of sticks, Fatypus is running their spring sale on 2024 skis. $575 for all remaining skis. Best skis on the market IMO.

The construction is top notch. I've never had a pair break on me. They're lightweight. They're handmade in small batched unlike big brands like armada, line, atomic, etc. They have a really natural and playful flex when you break them in. You can go fast and be stable but still butter around. Its a super small brand but the quality is far superior to anything I've been on prior. Not many people know about the brand but those who do love them

Is the athlete stiffness prolly the better option for a bigger/faster skier

Yeah I think athlete stiffness is gonna be the way to go. I haven't had any issues going fast with the normal flex but I'd say if you're a bigger person looking for a bit more stability then go athlete flex.

Honestly I don't have much experience on much outside of fatypus. Definitely not as soft as something like 1000 skis. You can definitely still go fast on the regular flex, I've hit 60 footers no issues, but if you want that little bit of extra stability then athlete flex is the way to go.

You may want to try reaching out to Jared the owner via email. He's always been really good at responding to questions pretty quickly and can give you better insight into flex and how it compares to other skis.
