Has anyone been to Windells in the summer, do they really help teach or is it just a good opportunity to stay on the snow? Also whats the environment like, is it a more traditional summer camp, or like a Woodward type of deal?
went one summer in middle school and got taught absolutely nothing on or off the snow, it was fun except for lapping solo because my coach was busy teaching others in my group who could barely ski. wish i would've went to momentum instead of Windells. The environment is pretty sick on campus though.
I went once and had John ware as a coach. They teach you as much as you're willing to learn, I didn't progress in anything except learning new grabs with spins. The park is wayyyy smaller in person but other than that if you are like 14 of 15 the camp is insanely fun and im still in contact with all of my cabin mates so you do kinda make lifelong friends
I've gone twice to adult camp. The atmosphere is different than the 18 and under. I'm not into the evening adult activities. I care more about the skiing.
For the skiing you don't really learn anything major but it depends on your coach and how much work you put into it. You're put in ability groups. I learned a little bit. It was more of like a group session with a guide kinda thing. It might be different for the kids.
I learned waaay more on my trip to Momentum a couple years ago. They're more serious about progression and training while still having fun in the evenings.
